Default Exploiters in River Palace.

A group of 4 people is most definately exploiting on the Gelenia server, they are pulling ALL the minotaurs at one of the 3 temples and then killing them within a minute or so. That's 15 to 20 minotaurs in a minute, and their health doesn't go down at all.

There's a cleric, druid, paladin and monk. they are all around level 40, except the pally who is 44.

I have the names of the people, and petitioned it in game.

Not sure what exploit this is, but since their health is not going down I assume the 10k HP is one of them. Not sure how they kill 20 mobs in a minute tho...

This needs to be fixed. I don't care if they get their arena coins this way or not. But they ruin it for all legitimate players.

lol they still haven't fixed that bug where you can buff your health/mana an unlimited amount? That's been popular for over a week now.

Cancelled and expired Apr 4th, because the pvp system (what system?) sucks and is unbalanced with pets lagging and 1-shotting, and other crap. This game is just not for the PvP fan right now.

Btw, by this I meant that there are a few groups playing in the zone that are doing the mobs the legitimate way, and they now just get overrun and all the mobs pulled away at once. Those groups now basically just have to go elsewhere, cause nothing is left after team exploit storms thru.

Maybe they should just add a /give all command to those people who need this lame way of progressing, so that they have all levels and the best in game gear.
Then they can move on, and the rest of us can enjoy the game

Me, a Psi and a Cleric can pull EVERY MINO in those camps (I mean my encounter list is dropping beneath my screen) and kill them all within a matter of 20 seconds. Psi has a staff that has an AE clicky. I have my AEs as a warrior, cleric has Aegis of Blades.

Granted we all are 50.

My group also could keep every Mino camps cleared without a problem. AE pulls are trivial on minos. The only irritating thing about them is they stun.

Monk, DK, Sorcerer, Druid were my groups AEers.

And this was when they were still lightblue.

at 50, myself (shaman) and a sorc can duo these minos taking on entire camps at a time. I round them up and the sorc kites/aoe's them. I assume a real tank and a sorc could do the same at mid 40s. As long as the sorc isn't getting hit they should be ablet to take them out.

If they had more then 1 aoe class it is even more possible.

Sounds liek they need to do something about the AEs then.....They should make the AEs where they dont damage more than 3-4 mobs or you will get exploits like this all day.....Dont expect a quick fix on this either...In EQ they had a similar problem with Bards kiting entire zones and it took them almost 2 years before they fixed it.

Exploit? Show me where a Dev said a competent group can't AE greens and Lightblues?

Not saying they didn't, just that I've never seen it.

and DKs can solo 20 2dots at a time if they are small and easily packed infront of the dk so he can AE Lifetap em.

There have been AE groups in VG since the first month.

Its kinda of a cool aspect of the game, but I agree probably is a bit much in some cases of extreme efficiency.

Alas, the key problem really is why a group of L50s has to farm coins for a L40 quest zone. I can tell you, because the items after L40 in most cases are worst then what you can get in Arena.

As a L50 dk, I recently got 3 mitigation upgrades there.

If you want the L50s out of the L40 zone, you have to wait for the devs to add better items elsewhere.

And for you tanks that dont know yet, from the perspective of the cursed gaming db, the only neck and cloak mitigation items in the game can be found in Arena. And one of three mitigation rings can be found of the named legionare in one of the temples. Thats if you consider mitigation important as a tank.

Yup, I have been involved in a few "AE" mino groups and they are great fun.

Last one was 2 clerics(Lvl 38, 39), myself(Lvl 39 Hayatet shaman), a drunken monk(Lvl 34 Our tank), a Psi(lvl 38), and a Sorcerer(lvl 37). Most of us were working towards a specific item to spend our coins on. Some wanted weapons, some the mask and cape, and myself the camel.

Should I apologize because this was some of the most fun I have had in a group in awhile? I think not, and I also do not think its a exploit of any type. Its a method of fighting that takes a slightly more specific group make up is all.

I feel that I am a legitimate player and so are my group mates in an AE situation. This just means that people have explored their class and other classes to learn what they are able to accomplish. Its this type of thinking out of the box that makes a game fun and allows groups to exist without the traditional "holy trinity".

I do believe this is the exact purpose of an AEs. Don't fix what ain't broken.

I can see this being done with careful kiting. Two Sorcs on AE, perpetually slowing them down with Icequake and blasting them away with Fireball (since it hits multiple targets at once) and energy rift. Have a Cleric/Blood Mage healing them and thats all you need especially if they are a couple of levels above most of the mobs there.

No, that was fixed in a patch last week. this exploit maybe old news.

I just got off the horn with Brad and co. They're maintaining that Area of Effect spells and abilities are intended to affect things that are (and here's the tricky part) inside the "area of effect". The health bug was fixed last patch, and using AoE spells to kill multiple targets at once is still not an exploit. There are multiple minotaur camps in the River Palace area. Lots of room for multiple groups to roam around, even if one is slaughtering via AoE abilities.

So you guys are saying that it's perfectly normal for a group of 4 lvl 40 people to kill 15 to 20 3dot lvl37/38 mobs all at once, within a minute or so. Without any of them losing health?

I'm glad you had fun, and I'm sure you didn't disrupt any other groups playstyle while doing this. But from what I witnessed, they run in where people are already playing, grab all the mobs, kill them in less time then other groups kill 1, rince and repeat at all other mino camps. Leaving everyone else there totally disillusioned and with nothing to do. Hardly sounds like a play fair attitude to me.

But then this turns into a totally different discussion.

What I witnessed was game breaking imo (mark the imo).
You guys are posting it's perfectly normal.

To me, adding those two points up results in a broken game (imo again!).
And to others it adds to the fun. Good for you, no hard feelings.

Tons of other fun games to play, no harm done.
