The Vanguard Sages Challenge

So, you think you know everything that's ever been said about the game of Vanguard: Saga of Heroes? You've read all the lore, every forum post, gone over the screenshots with a magnifying glass, personally counted each pixel? Vanguard Silky Venom is giving you the chance to prove it.

Each month, we will release a set of questions on everything Vanguard. You will have a fortnight (2 weeks) to PM your answers to SageBot and claim the title of Vanguard Sage!

Each perfect score will earn that forum member the title "Vanguard Sage", and their name will be included on the Sage Leader Board, so that we can track, month by month, who is worthy of the grand title "Ultimate Vanguard Sage" and a Sagely cool prize, not to mention boasting rights!

The first quiz will be released on Monday, November 07, 2005. It’s time to etch your name into Vanguard's History.

Format of Entries:

Entries must be received as a PM by SageBot before the closing date of the current quiz.

Each quiz will be numbered. Include the number of the quiz in your PM. Each answer should include the question number. Eg.

Subject: Quiz 1

1. Fish.
2. Dog.
3. Sparkly.
4. (e)
5. (f)
6. Gerbil.

Rules 'n Stuff:

1. If one of the answers we announce is wrong, tell us. We'll check it out, admit our error and look rrrreaallly embarrassed. Wrong questions/answers will be removed from contention.

2. All questions are drawn from publicly released information. However, some of the questions may be trickier than they first appear.

3. If no-one gets a perfect score on an individual quiz, no-one gets the title of Vanguard Sage that month. Lucky no-one!

4. The title of Ultimate Vanguard Sage will be awarded to the person who has the highest overall score at the close of the competition. Yes, this means that if you don't participate in every Sage quiz, you'll be working at a significant disadvantage. If there is a tie for highest score, the title will be awarded by chance (or a Sagely mud-wrestling match, should you so choose to entertain us).

5. The Vanguard Sages Challenge will run until the announcement that Vanguard: Saga of Heroes has gone Gold. When the final quiz closes, the title of the Ultimate Vanguard Sage will be awarded.

6. The Vanguard Sages Challenge is not open to Vanguard Silky Venom staff or Sigil Games Online employees (because we're pretty sure they know more about the game than we do)!

Yup, you'll still go up on the leaderboard, you just won't get a monthly title.

Edit: Oh, to be clear, no the monthly winners don't get an avatar.

If you win the monthly title, does your title go away after 1 month unless you win the contest again with another perfect score?

The title is permanent, however in order to win the final prize and title you must have the highest total score.

So technically, you could be the Ultimate Vanguard Sage without ever having won the previous title, though this is unlikely.
