It serves as a place where people can speak their mind without fear of moderation. Where people can say what they feel, in the way they want without worrying about censorship or getting 'infractions'.

Apparently it's worked very well for EQ2, as it is a good site that enjoys plenty of dev interaction despite the fact that EQ2 has its own official forums.

Because the linked information doesn't violate the VG EULA by teaching anyone how to obtain and use the product described in the screenshot, it is allowed here.

So, there is moderation, in fact it is LFG. So it sounds more like he is free to post want he likes because he decides the moderation level there than the ideal that the site is free from moderation.

There is a big difference between questioning the level of moderation and posting an attack flame on your own forum for the simple sake of bitching.

As an affiliate site, there has to be a line.. and I would say that allowing information on how to obtain and use a bot crosses that line.

There is moderation, and there is contract breaking, bordering on illegal.

The fact that he didn't moderate it only proves that there is no moderation, and his comments indicate that the only way it could be moderated is if it gave explicit directions on how to obtain and employ the bot.

Um...because that page is on their Fan Faire page, which is a convention of sorts. Do you expect them to not plan something for their Fan Faire? Would you rather it be made up on the fly? I dont get what the heck you're saying in your post. Makes no sense at all.

I still think Vanguard and possibly Sigil will get bought out, but I just wanted to point out that this post is a misconception of what the SOE Fan Faire is. Seems like you seem to think it's some sort of Vanguard news website.
