World Life
Years ago I beta tested and played EQ2 upon release. I gave it the old college try, but those of us who played it back then know it was horrible.
It had steep system requirements and alot of bugs. I had beta's for 5 months and then played live for 4 months after that I left and never looked back.
Enter Vanguard. I started beta at Beta 3 played for 4 months and quit in frustration. Too many bugs and steep system requirements. ( My system far and away exceeds the game requirements) Its still has troubles.
So to the point. I had heard here in the forums that EQ2 was greatly improved. So I decided to try it. It really is nice..Its easy (I like alot more challenge) but the quests are well thought out combat is good and the graphics are great.
One thing I noticed almost immediately when I started playing EQ2 is that its ALIVE. NPCs are busy...talking to each other ...running errands all sorts of things. Even in the wild birds are flying around non agro NPCs are everywhere ...deer badgers you name it. Its just teemng with life.
In comaprision VG is dead as a doornail. I have a 30 monk of test server and its even more apparent there. The population is so low its like a single player game. Its a ghost town. Both PC and NPC life is missing.
I think thats the certain soething that is missing in VG. Its subliminal really.
People feel it when its missing.
Anyway Im having relaxing fun in EQ2 .
Be Well
