The vision was Sigil merging with SOE the same way Verant did.

The End!~

The Vision (tm) was a big steamy load of crap that was fed to the VG players who have been around since early beta. Sigil ruthlessly took advantage of them by feeding them The Vision (tm) and it kept them around through all the beta stages... and all the way up through a buggy release.

The reason The Vision (tm) is being mentioned so frequently these days... is because the Vanbois are starting to realize that they were duped and that VG is going to be a very different game from what they were expecting.

That's what they get or worshiping a video game designer.

Pretty sure 100 levels was thought of for release among a lot of other things.

lol, people always take shit overboard. What he thought would work back in 2002 may not work in 2007. Everything changes everday. I dont put much into his "vision" thing people always like to toss out there.

People are quick to beleive that every mmo that comes out will be like their first virgin experience again. It just wont happen.

Yah, I told this to my girlfriend lately when I cheated on her in a threesome with her twin sister and mom: "hey baby, the vision changes, what worked when we first started dating doesn't work now!" Great argument

Seriously, especially when a company is making a product that requires such dedication, the finished product shouldn't be 180 degrees from what they set out to make and told their fans they were making. It's not only bad business if you can't make what you set out to make, but it's a sure fire way to piss off customers!

Honestly, the "vision" as people understood it was to make the most graphic intensive game of all time, with three awe inspiring continents, three distinct spheres, and a place where the hardcore and casuals both can play! A Game that will revolutionize the MMO universe and be a true 3rd generation MMO. I saw a comerial recently about Vanguard and I wanted to play that game - then I realized I was ... got bored and started posting here.

I think the lesson learned here is:

Don't say jack or shit to the general populace until the core of your game runs smoothly and is ready to go into external beta.

so true... all "vision" does is make it hard to deviate if the vision isn't panning out.

Had they never built anything up from the beginning would be all be in such an outrage at all the changes that have been made? Probably not.

Before most of us even saw the game we were being told how it would be, then by the time we saw it that had changed, but our hopes and preconceived notions where in place, which is just asking for outrage.

From the beginning they should of just told us VG would have a great personality, then when we saw her and she was a bit doggy we'd at least not be surprised and try to get to know her and hope she gave good head. We were told VG was a beauty queen, and she isn't, and doesn't even give good head like a doggy chick might.

Honestly, if I wanted some of the old experiences back I would play the old games again (if they are still around). I decided to play SWG for a bit when I get bored of Vangaurd. As a crafter I went from level 1 - 65 in 1 week and 5 days and I work and still play vanguard and I have had no help - and I been playing the Jump to Light Speed spacesim as well where I am almost maxed in Imperials side.

What I want from a MMO... a game so awe inspiring and great PvP that I miss work to play and after 3 years I give up a girlfriend to keep playing on an important "Event" or "raid."

No matter how good a game is I would take the girlfriend. Even if it was played on a hollow deck.

By the way, if you want good PvP play Counterstrike.

But see, some of us understand that even the coolest sounding things become not possible (or not cost effective) when developing a piece of software. So, the BETTER idea would be to just keep your trap shut until the game is at least approaching complete. That way people like you won't have conniption fits when they find out that what was proposed just simply wasn't going to work either at all or with the available budget.

What does "I've got the over..." mean? Possible irony FTW?
