Level 35 - 40 Missives ?
Other than the few missives you can still get at Southwatch at level 35 or so are there any other towns or outposts that offer level 35 to 40 missives ?
Thanks,
K

With all the post 35 content they have added, why would you want to waste your time doing mind numbing missives?
There are no missives post 35 that I am aware of.

Missives are in no way a waste of time. They are great xp and well worth doing. Why would I spend time doing them ? Because when I do missives I can have a constant influx of xp that doesn't generally require doing what I *do* consider a waste of time - hunting around for quests to do or the mobs for said quests. Missive mobs are usually located very near the town that gave the missive. I can login, start doing missives and have a great time and get xp at the same time. I don't have to run around looking for new quests and wasting precious time running all over hell's half acre to complete them. I don't mind quests and do them frequently but missives are much faster.
I hate standing around not getting xp :-)

There are a veritable shit-ton of soloable quests post 35 all over Telon.
Quests that don't award a random yellow/blue item that you may or may not even be able to use.
Quests that have interesting backstories and lore.
Quests that take you to interesting locations and require to you fight a variety of different mobs.
I've seen people in southwatch go from 30-35 doing the same stupid frog missive over and over and over and over again. Every 10 missives doing their turnin for a blue/yellow item that they can't use and end up putting on the broker for 10s because the market is flooded with 30 other people selling the same sword or piece of armor.
How exactly is that compelling and interesting gameplay?
If it were up to me, I would remove the XP reward from missives and add a coin reward. The devs are not encouraging players to go out and explore the world with missives offering such substantial XP reward.
Perhaps this is why they have not added any missives post 35.

At 35, you could go to then next chunk west of Southwatch - Beranid Hills.
The little outpost in the valley has a dozen or so quests (most soloable) that give excellent experience (100k-140k) and some nice rewards.
Some of the quests are just like missives (but not repeatable) in that you just have to go kill x-number of mobs.
Some of the small-group quests are designed so you can do 3-4 at the same time. A group of 4 I was in did 4 quests in one spot in less than 30 min - that was over 450K experience and 64 silver in less than 30 minutes !!!
After I finished those I went to the chunk just north of Strandon (Qalia). I think it's called Dragon's Backbone. There are many soloable quests there too, also with 100k-140k experience each. I will likely gain over a full level there (38.9-40) just doing quests.

When you take the porter to Strandan, you will find 10-15 quests at the bounty hunter outpost that involve the surrounding chunks. River Palace, Stranglewater Shore, etc.
In that batch of quests, you will get a lead quest that directs you to a NPC at the Dragon's Backbone outpost.
There is another batch of 10-15 quests from there... one of them is a questline that leads you to the Xenn dungeon.

Perhaps some of us prefer to do missives and not be forced to group with insufferable fools like yourself.

Missives are not the only solo content in Vanguard.
Us insufferable fools would probably prefer not to group with gimps who did nothing but missives from 1-50 and haven't the slightest clue about grouping dynamics.
You're probably that person who spams Thestra region chat with "LFG frog missive"

I find it funny on internet forums when younger people add 'kid' or 'son' at the end of their comments.... like they are trying make themselves look older and wiser... having no idea that the person they are addressing is probably actually older than they are.
But I digress...
I admit that grouping in MMOGs is not particularly difficult, but it's painfully obvious when you are grouping with a player with very little grouping experience. They are the ones who don't assist, draw aggro every other mob or try to use solo tactics. The players who have no idea of how other classes work.
You ever grouped with a tank that solod for 40 levels before they ever joined a group?

So true. Vanguard should offer solo play options of course, but players shouldn't be able to solo to 40+. Grouping should be a necessary component of gameplay post level 18-20.
On a related topic, one of the things that is bugging me about Vanguard is the "mercenary zerg" approach to grouping by some players.
You know who I am talking about... they either invite you to their group or ask to join yours, they hardly talk, they just run around zerging the mobs as fast as possible to finish their quest/task/missive and then they disband once they get what they want, or try to steer the group to adopt their "agenda" without any regard for the needs/wants of the rest of the people in the group. That's really a shitty and selfish way to play the game.
That kind of behavior is one of the things I hate about EQ2 and WoW, as well. I don't just blame the players I think it is a basic design flaw in Vanguard and the way the quests are set up. Completing quests/missives gives so much more exp than killing the mobs that people just want to race through to get the bonus for completion.
It would be a far better design for the mobs to be more difficult and yield more experience per kill, and have the quests take longer to complete, offering loot as the bonus rather than such a huge chunk of exp. Leave the "zerging" ez-mode crap to the other games, please - it is seriously killing the group game in Vanguard.

I disagree.
There should be solo content at all levels.
I am often unable to group when I log in (frequent AFK) so it is nice to be able to get some shit done solo.

Maybe I worded it badly... I like to solo too. There should be some solo content at all levels, but you shouldn't be able to play solo exclusively and reach the highest levels.
They call it a Massively Multiplayer Online Game for a reason, there should be some required interaction to get to the pinnacle.
