OMG the horror! Recommending that native speakers of other languages living in America make regular use of English media to learn English! For shame!

I think that before we start mandating others learn English we should probably adopt it as an official language ourselves.

It's not a mandate. However, if you do plan to have much success in this country you need to be able to speak and understand English.

the funney thing is amercia dosent speal emglish just there own basterdized verstion they cant even spell colour roght

i was only doing a little leg pulling and yes your right then again the same can be said about almost any language
in spaon there is 2 vert differant verstions of spanish the same with french in france

Bah, don't call me British. I am English.
English as a language has always evolved, many of it's words are absorbed from other languages. That's what happens when you have had such a huge empire.
But can you please try and spell 'colour' correctly
