this was done in 2004...

I mean before calling him a liar, you'd need to figure out where they were in terms of game/design compromises.

The Date at the bottom shows tues may 18th so... that date fell in 2004.

Ok he may have been making "promises", but I think he's already acknowledged that he did hype it up. That was over 3 years ago though, and I think Brad has learned a lot since then, I think we all have

I'm not defending him, I just think you are being unfair calling him a liar, A fool would have been more accurate IMO.

I agree. I doubt he was lying here, he was just offloading the "discussion table of possibilities." He probably was too busy to read all the emails from the Dev's saying 'Nooooooooooooooooooo!'

Reading that thread compounds my sense of disappointment with VG. It could have been so very, very, very good.

It's not that bad a game as it stands, but the gap between expectation and delivery is beyond hyperbole.

Of course that game descirbed could have been very very good. It's also very very impossible to make. Anyone could sit there and promise all that and people would be all over it, drooling until release day. Brad was just telling people what they wanted to hear.. maybe he really thought they could make all that in a few years but any sane person would know it would never happen.
