Seriously.....what game is out there that is worth it?

EQ? OLD AS ****

EQ2 Same old shit....with a 2 after it.

Lotro? I don't think I can handle a bunch of pimply faced Bilbo wanna-bes for very long, plus it's kinda just a dumbed down EQ2, but smaller. Maybe it's changed?

Vanguard? Be ok, if you like playing on 3 servers, crashing, and enjoying the company of the 30 other people still subbed.

Warhammer? WoW pvp reborn...bleah.

Conan? Bound to have HUGE issues i bet, with DX10 and it's already been pushed back till whenever, so my bet is the game will tank.

POTBS? Trying beta....so far it's ok, shitty instanced everything, and i feel trapped a lot. I mean, I like sailing and all...but why the hell can't we even JUMP in that game?? Plus toon creation sucks the big one.

Darkfall? Thanks to Atoyota for even showing me that ****ing game....It's NEVER coming out, the forum over there is full of insane loons that have been waiting so long, they already act like thier playing it. I mean, wtf....who makes a guild years before a game is even out???

I'm pretty sure Adventurine is a shell company for a Euro drug-ring, and Darkfall is a myth. Oh...Beta's coming....any day now......maybe 2008? Sure it's taken 20 years to make a game, but hey......we only have one asian guy chained to a wall in a closet making it, so what do ya want???

If Darkfall fails....i forsee a lotta slit wrists off those forums, lol.

Maybe the age of good MMOS came and went with EQ and Ultima. Maybe consoles and snot-nosed kids have forever destroyed the world of gaming, and eye-candy and fluff is all we have left.

*2 mins left until I can try VG out again to see HOW AWESOME the game is now and how much it has changed since April!!!! /sarcasm off.

You're right there is 'no' mmog out there truly worth playing. Eve is the best it gets and I'm bored with that atm.

Some new ones soon to come out, but in truth looks like the same old stuff to me... maybe a tad better. Maybe only because they are new.

Darkfall, well that is taking a long time but is the only one worth the wait IMO. Also by waiting for that type or style game, with an oldschool non carebear concept? if anything it shows that an interest does exist, even if that game never materialises....
I think it will... just my opinion.

I recently read that much of conan is going to be instanced if that helps with any decisions.

As for Vanguard, there are a lot of people playing on Xeth and Seradon.

I was enjoying LotRO, but something else came along that drew my attention away.

DAoC is still hopping on the Classic Cluster. A Tale In The Desert is different.

Depends on what you are looking for, I suppose, as there is a game for everyone somewhere.

I logged into VG today. I was instantly bored. Truth be told......When Atoyota brought up DF, and the fact that it was PVP last year...i was like "HELL NO...PVP IS THE GHEY!!!!!!"

No though...all I want is a PVP style game...with ships, and housing, and crafting, and the word "Conan" NOT in any game I play.

I think the age of a good new PVE is all but gone. VG would have to work serious miracles. I mean..the base is there for it...but really....it has along way yet to cook before it's done.

not really... not what I'd call "for me".

MrReynolds posted something up in general last week, how he can't understand why some play games they don't really like, while waiting for (and hoping for) one that they will.
The answer I feel is to stay 'connected' to an mmog environment, while you wait. It may be a guild or group, or it may only just be the 'fantasy'.

If I were to list 'off the cuff' (nothing in detail), a percentage of wants in existing games... I'd say Eve has about 60% while everything else is less than 50%.

Darkfall (on expectations alone) looks to have about 90%, but in reality, once I have a chance to play it.... It still looks to be better then Eve. Even if it does'nt reach all of what I hope for.

This 'dry spell' in games has gone on for years and become a drought.

WEll if you're looking for fair and balanced PvP then VG is not your game from what I hear. I play on one of the PvE servers and enjoy the group quests.

"many" that have played more recently say some (not all) performance related aspects have improved, but that the game itself still sucks.

I have faith it will get there eventually, but only for those that want a carebear PvE game to tool around in. That's fine by me... get those monkeys off the streets and give them an option so they don't whine and screw up another good game.

All these fools wanted was a game like WoW that did'nt have the comic look. That's all it is... WoW will still be a better game, but don't try and tell these fags.

As for me, both games suck... and EQ never... ever... was as good as UO was when it was rocking. I never played EQ, but I've heard enough to know that much. It was just shinier and more splashy but not as real in gameplay.

They both got raped by carebears though... now the times are changin, and maybe soon a return to real games.

WoW arena has me entertained for the time being.

Takes skill/strategy/reactions/cool-head/gear to win consistantly.

Nothing amazing out till WAR/Conan hits but unfortunately I'm not overly optimistic towards either. Yet i'll still be dumping $50 on their release.

I have been "trying" hard to enjoy VG again with the free time we got to play these last couple weeks. I hate it. It's boring and laggy, and just crap. I don't CTD anymore, but tbh..i wish I would. I can't even tell you what I don' like about VG...it's just..plain. There is really nothing remarkable about it. It's just a laggy EQ2 really, with a couple variations.

So...I guess I am just gonna let VG and EQ2 fade away. PVE was once fun, but now...it's just NOT.

Shade is right too...I loaded up WoW with my wife, and we just dick around in there for fun.....There is at least more to do in WoW. Granted my wife and I loathe the graphics. My wife more, as toon creation is about as bad as it gets.

So....until Darkfall makes a real apperance, and we all get to see what that holds....I will play COD4 and PVP in WoW.

Maybe Huxley will be cool.....I have my doubts tho. Hell..Maybe I'll get a Warhammer invite too...Beta is always a fun ride.

Gonna be a long winter....Can't wait till I can take out the ol' fishing pole again.

I'm in the same boat, basically, rourke. I'm not subscribed to anything at the moment, because I'm just totally through with what's available right now. I've been tinkering a little with a character on KMRA emulated EQ server. Other then that i just bought Universe at War (top down stratagy game). It's kinda more of the same, but it seems to be a little more difficult than usual. That's kept me entertained for now.
I kinda agree with spirit also: I'm of the opinion that we basically won't see a good MMO agian for a long time. Everyone in the industry seems to be about dumbing down thier stuff and trying to keep people in what is basically a hamster wheel with cheap recycled scripts and ever growing statistics.

Searching as well. Believe it or not, after much reading and contemplation, the best option I can come up with based on pros and cons is......WoW. yep, I said it. This is after playing SWG, EQ2, VG, and now I'm bumming quarters in the red light district with you guys.

I'm going to try WoW and see what all the fuss is about. Since everyone seems to aspire to make a game WoW within a few months of release, why not go for the original...at least until something else comes out?
