Hail Adventurers!

It is said that heroes are born on the fields of battle, forged by blood and steel. They are the men and women who rise above their adversaries with courage and valor. Those that who survive such trials become leaders and kings; the dead become legend… tales told by firelight.

I speak now of the things concerning an ancient brotherhood bound by solemn oath and driven by the will to resist the shadows cast upon them by the undead armies and their assault upon Thestra. There once existed and outpost of Targonor positioned at the southern border of the old kingdom. It was manned by a voluntary militia and known as Camp Lorien. One fateful night in the bitter cold of darkness word reached the camp of an approaching undead army, vast beyond all belief. An attack on Targonor’s outlying towns and villages was immanent and the people had no warning. Camp Lorien now stood between the marching horde and the defenseless villagers and farmers.

Riders were dispatched to send warning of the approaching army and orders too evacuate. The remaining soldiers at Camp Lorien, though fully aware that any attempt to resist any army of such scope would be suicide, unanimously elected to stand their ground in an attempt to slow the armies long enough for the people to escape.

The stand at Camp Lorien saved many innocent lives, but at a great cost. Nearly all of the soldiers perished that day, including their leader, Captain Ethelion Sirende, who was consumed by dark fires he destroyed Bantor Argontia, the great Dread Lord who aided in the merciless assault.

The few soldiers that remained were scattered by the death of their leader and the destruction of the old kingdom. Even as New Targonor rose in the place of its predecessor the veterans of Camp Lorien had all but given up hope that the vision of their fallen Captain would ever be restored. After many long years however, hope has returned as the bloodline had been found.

The hour of the Arvandor has come! A fire in the hearts of our brethren has rekindled and the strength of the Arnor has returned! Gone are the days of malevolence and injustice, replaced now by the resolve of this alliance. We will once again bring the hammers of justice to the very doorsteps of the unjust and once again unite under one banner against the might of Telon’s darkest foes! Yes, it is time. It is time for the people to put on the armor of the divine and pledge an oath of service to the people of Telon! Rise gallant warriors! Rise to the light of the eastern dawn! Rise above the shadows and declare freedom forever!

Forth warriors of Avalorien! Together we shall restore the glory of the Arvandor!

Indeed, that is one of the most beautiful forums I've ever seen. The design is laden with atmosphere. I adore the falling leaves.

A very pretty site so far, and beautiful forums! Your EQ2 forums were very nice as well.

May I ask a few questions?

You stated you are after dedicated players. Do you see this in terms of time spent playing the game, or are you just looking to do without guild-hoppers and others who will not commit themselves to the guild?

Secondly, as a roleplay guild, are you intending to expect players to act in character all of the time? If so, how has this worked out in the past?

I do not expect anyone to play a set number of hours per day or be a certain level by a timeline. To me thats what hardcore guilds are for and we are not.

What I mean by dedicated is, people that will stay the course and see things to the end. People that can commit to the storyline, role-play structure and to remain loyal. People that help guild members by grouping, raiding or just passing the time with social chatter. That to me is dedication.

Heavy role-play is encouraged, however, we will not enforce a rule that requires constant role-play. I could never ask members to do something I know I cannot.

A pity you are only allowing humans no? we Raki, can be very loyal to those we give it to, yes, indeed. I seek something similar to what you have laid out, but alas, am not human, no.

As far as I know, there have not been any restrictions put on races, but i could be wrong. I've only read through the site and applied.

Quoting Avalorien FAQ:
"Q: Which races do you allow?
A: Avalorien currently accepts all Neutral/Good races that do not conflict with the PVP or role-playing rules of the story. We will have a more defined answer for this as we gain better information concerning the PVP environment of Vanguard."

PS-The site IS beautiful Bai Jixu. Please god dont change it too much =).

We already have a member that is RPing a Dark Elf, so I am sure a Raki would be fine.

All races are welcome into the ranks. Ofcourse, Goblins and most Vulmane are to stay away from my quarters unless they have had a bath.

I am Bligyith, Gnomish Diplomat and Psionicist of Avalorien. I have been a member of the guild for several years now since our beginnings in EQ2, and must say we have an excellent (and growing) bunch of members so far for our foray into Vanguard. Blig's right about the Goblin / Vulmane bathing rule, but he failed to mention that gnomes have to wear bright orange vests while in the common room so that they don't get stepped on.

Allow me to introduce my monkly self. Name's Ferrax, and I've been with the guild since before the dawn of time. Well... maybe not that long, but for several years at any rate.

Needless to say, Avalorien is like a family to me by now, and if that's what you're looking for in a guild, look no further. You won't find a guild with a better atmosphere anywhere on the net. (But don't let the niceness fool you, we're also known for dishing out some serious in-game hurt when we need to.)

I would just like to give an update and let everyone know that Avalorien is still recruiting. As Vanguard is nearing closer to launch we are taking more steps to insure that we have a strong pre-release community. If you know for sure that you will be playing Vanguard, and you are looking for a fun, mature, casual guild, then Avalorien is the place for you. As stated in the title, we are an RP-PvP based guild. (Assuming that ruleset is available) Come check us out!
