Hey there all. I've been lurking around the Vanguard community for a couple of years now, and with my recent flight from EQ2 and substandard MMOs in general I've been looking for a place to call home and a group of people to get to know before the insanity of launch comes bearing down upon us. When I found out that Silky Venom was not only the single most useful and informative fansite but also a hardcore guild... well, here I am.
I'm a college theatre and lit student, aspiring director, and general tech guy. I've been into MMOs for years, starting with the Realm back in '97 and BBSs before that (L.O.R.D. anyone?). I joined EQ in late June of '99 and played off and on for a couple of years, never becoming exceptionally hardcore. Since then I've migrated through various games, most especially Shadowbane and EQ2. In SB I was a squad leader for the guild that dominated the Fear server, a guild who has since become so despicable I won't defile your forums with its name. I started playing EQ2 when it was released, and only recently threw in the towel.
I suppose I'm the kind of player who woke up one day and realized somehow he'd gone from a casual player to hardcore without realizing it, and now I'm looking for a real challenge. I really look forward to getting to know you folks and proving my worth as a player and organizer in the weeks and months ahead. Thanks again for having me!
