Anyone messing around with the beta? I have it installed on a partition of my Vista machine. Haven't played with it too much yet, still setting up all my software on it But so far I am pretty impressed with it. The install was virtually painless, had to manual install my X-Fi driver but otherwise went great. It's very fast and lean compared to Vista The taskbar is a little different but I am already starting to like it. Libraries are cool too. Very stable so far, hardly seems like a beta

Just wondering if anyone else was playing with it, and what they thought....

I've installed it as well, and have not been displeased for the most part.

I've had 2 problems so far, but one of them is pretty obscure.

My first problem is getting the Java run time environment working. I installed it properly and it just isn't working. It may be a 64bit related problem.

The second problem I think started with vista and it has to do with attaching to a shared directory from linux. I have music and movies stored on my windows box that I watch on my television connected to a linux machine (running mythtv). When using XP its dead easy to mount a shared from the windows machine, but I run into issues when trying to mount vista and now win 7 shares. This is hard to blame on windows as its 2 OS's trying to talk to each other, it could be my Samba version is out of date on the linux machine, but this was the reason I had to reboot back into windows XP today.

But yeah, overall it seems like a nice change. I've even enjoyed *gasp* windows media player.
