The people that I know who left (I am one, btw) did not do so because the game would be destroyed, but rather we do not support RMT in our hobby. Also, many people left due to the disrespect shown by SOE. Destroyed? No.

No one said RMT would destroy the game per say, they said it would destroy their game, which is relative to them, and it would most likely upset the in game market as this particular game, as Brad said from the get go was not designed to have a real world market as well as a virtual one.
Many of the same people also said they hoped it would not effect the game.

The first effect directly seen in the game was the exodus of veterans. Sad, many of these were valued friends and comrades in many a battle. They had valuable game knowledge and a lot of them were players that tested the content on the test server. When a virtual world such as Vanguard loses it's veterans it does effect all of us though we may not know it outright.

The effects of LG will not truly be know for many months possibly as long as a year, so as much as you would like to shout 'I told you so', I would hold off on that. One can only hope in the interim the game is tweaked to balance both markets. LG is borked as I understand it, and many players use custom UI's and don't even see it at this point. As new players not using these UI's come in, and as they fix LG to work properly you will start seeing the effects then.

Eleven items for sale with no bids. Why would someone be selling jewerly at the selling cost of $1.25? Why put up auctions to make no money at all?

No bids on plat. Two single auctions on Xeth for $6.75 but no bids for a few days. No plats for sale on Seradon.

16 characters for sale, with no bids on any. A day or so ago I saw a bid on a lvl 30-ish character. There is a lvl 50 disc on sale for $5 ($500 buy out). Someone needs to snatch that up. What is sad for LG is the amount of junk for sale - three lvl 50's but five characters in their teens for sale. Why?

Probably the same reason people used to list stuff like vendor dye or fuel for crafting or tin ore - In the hopes of catching either an idiot or someone too lazy to do it themselves.

The low level characters are probably alts from the higher level ones. If someone was selling off their level 50 and quitting the game then why not post the alt characters as well? Try and make as much $ as you can before leaving.

Yes, it does not cost anything so might as well. It does make LG look like a junkyard, though.

Or they are trying to supplement their subs price by selling alts they no longer play rather then delete them.

Nine items for sale. No bids.

Plat on sale on Xeth and Seradon but no bids on any. The cheap single plat ($6.25) is about the expire on Xeth in about three hours. Plat is at $11 each on Seradon. Since the cheap plat on Xeth has been around for days and will expire, I don't see anything selling.

Seventeen characters for sale, including six lvl 50's. The only auction with any bids is the cheap lvl 50 that started at $5 and is now at $40.25 with four bids. Aside from bargain shopping, characters are not moving.

There are bids on plats. On Xeth, someone is bidding $11.50 for two plat; the rest of the 11 bids 9ranging from 1 to 6 plats) have no bids. On Seradon, one person has placed two bids on 5 pp each for $35 each. Yes, he is spending $70 to get 10 plat. On Sartok, there are no bids but 10 auctions for 10 pp each at $35.

There are now a lot more characters for sale - 20 total with 11 of them being lvl 50. The bid war for that one character is at $55.25 with six bids. There is another cheap character at $25 (monk, lvl 50, no other professions, no mounts). The rest range from $50-$150, with one at $199.99. It's startling to see so many lvl 50's for sale just after the new GU for lvl 50 content. It looks like some people took a look at the new content and said that this is not for them.

Can someone explain to me how you bid on only one character?

Wouldn't most people have a stable of character on their account? Wouldn't it be a selling point to say you have 1 level 50, but 2 high 30's character as well?

I don't think you can sell accounts, just characters.

Due to the mechanics of the system, you do not bid on an account, but on a specific character. You cannot put an account up for sale, only parts, be it an item (an plat is only an item) or a character (with items on that "item", view it as an entire character slot on your account). If you win the bid, you have the character transfered to your account. You don't get another account.

It's probably like any other name change. Every one can get one name change no questions asked. Both the characters I sold are still using my names - Romans on Sartok and Sicula on Seredon.

Some plat auctions up, with little movement. I have seen 1-plat auctions on Xeth sale at $6.25 but the rest (2-, 3-, etc.) don't move. Currently there are eight plat auctions on Xeth, 8 on Seradon and 10 on Sartok. I am seeing a lot of plat sales expire. There are ten 10-plat sales on Sartok; combine with the rumors of extensive raw material sales on the server, it suggests that there really is a new plat duping bug somewhere. How else would someone have 100 plat to sale for cheap on Sartok?

Have the fixed the part where you can actually see what the stats and lvl requirement for the item is? Until that happens I don't see many items selling at all. I know if I went for stuff like buying items I wouldn't just buy an item unless I know what the stats on the item was and if I could use it. Sure you could do research before going o a site like that but i doubt many people do that.
