Board game, Ticket to Ride - Europe

I got this game for Christmas and got my first chance to play it last night. If there's anyone here who already enjoys Catan or other board games, you should look this one up. It plays well, and is extremely well-produced, from the quality of the durable board and pieces, to the art which rivals anything Wizards of the Coast puts out.

Any other board gamers here? What do you play?

"A Game of Thrones" is a board game based off on an excellenty fantasy series by George RR Martin. It plays somewhat like risk, only with less random chance and a lot more political negotiation between players. A ton of fun for 3-5 (or six, with the expansion) players.

I've played Settlers of Catan (with Cities and Knights and the Ships one too) and it's a great game. I've also played Game of Thrones--also a great game. They can take some time to play through, but welll worth it with some fun loving friends. I saw Ticket to Ride the other day in a game store. I'll have to check it out more thoroughly. Has anyone ever played "Twilight of the Imperium"? Now THAT is a MEGA game. It's very involved and takes a good long time when you play with people who are very meticulous in their planning. For anyone who doesn't know about it, the goals are very similar to Game of Thrones and Catan and that is to build up "victory points", but it's space based, you build up fleets, you have to manage certain logistical concerns regarding ships, troops, and production as well as political influence, you research technology to get an edge, there are many many races with different strengths and weaknesses, and it's just a whole lot of fun. I'd recommend it to fans of the others games mentioned. Be warned, it has a learning curve and it's always best with more people.

If you're looking at Ticket to Ride, I'd suggest avoiding the original and go with T2R Europe or the new T2R Marklin. I've read that he original game had a few hiccups that were corrected with the benefit of hindsight.
