Probably not Dabble. Its about this time when he'll claim something ludicrous like how he has been working hard on an unannounced MMORPG with a new found company, maybe Everquest: Saga of Heroes.

Part 1-4 haven't exactly proven any of us wrong. He just can't seem to take the blame for anything. Secondly it is amusing that 80% of the comments are flaming him yet he doesn't put the effort in to moderate it. Though if he did he would probably only have at most 10 comments per post.

I do want to read Part 5. I had hoped it would be out sometime over Christmas.

Topic is rather irrelevant at this point. I think you guys don't realize it, judging from what kind of moronic stuff you normally write here (take as an example your reply to Talithias post) but doing stuff like attacking Tal/Joodah on every post they write or filling up comment section of Brad's blog with childish attempts on cyber-bullying does only make yourselves look like total idiots. If you cannot see that the answer is clearly Joodah/Talithia, which I actually seriuosly expect to be the case, then I cannot help but to wonder how stupid you really are.

While your little post was fairly well written it doesn't address the current matter at hand here.

Which is why you would choose to necro a topic almost 2 months old. Are you just now starting to read these forums or do you just have a really bad case of delayed reactions?

Right let me point out a couple of things. I do not hate anyone on any forum, I just tend to disagree an awful lot with the Taloodah. You must remember to take most of if not all of what I write as "tongue in cheek", I don't believe I've ever offended anyone on this forum and if I have I've certainly never been told, not that I would apologize anyway as to be honest nobody has anything to be offended about, I don't insult people in any racial, cultural or disability way. I simply poke fun just as Joodah calls me "Duhgon" ~ totally harmless, no?

Would I be right in thinking you necroed this topic just to try and get me to flame you? I just can't for the life me of see why you've brought this up

Please tell me you don't honestly think that I'm sort of cyber-bully...lol

Since we are the only ones who come here and have been supporting this for years, any call for an "objective look" is pretty moot. Even your post here is a rant directed at the only people left.

But I see the rancor against two self-professed fans of Vanguard to be a current reflection on the game and where it has come since 2003. Most of the people here (who were at one point die hard fans) were crushed by how the game was managed, released, and driven into the ground. Angry posts here are just extreme disappointment in Vanguard.

I myself never understood the bitterness at silky until Smed-Sil made it so I could no longer tolerate the game that I had wanted to love.

Do people here go overboard? Yeah. But, what the hey, it's cheap entertainment. It used to bother me that the presentation of VG here was unbalanced - and it was - but that was when the game had a chance in hell of becoming something good. Now there is zero realistic chance of that happening, so I guess I just don't care any more.

Needing a cool place to come and share our cantankerous musings on all things Vanguard, I like to think of this place as our Starbucks (if yours is anything like the one in my neighborhood, you'll understand this analogy).

And to reply to hmsilven with that end-all-be-all answer to every controversial change in Vanguard that occurred throughout its lifespan...if you don't like it, don't read it.

Read it, use it, whatever.

I finally read Brad's posts and with respect to world size (which was a problem but not the key problem) reducing Kojan was the wrong solution. They should have just cut Thestra (saving it for an expansion) and left Qualia and Kojan.

Of course that wouldn't have solved the other key issues (bad coding of the engine which caused hitching, tiered quests requiring significant backflagging, weak loot and weak boss issues, a dev team bent on reducing the 'fun' in the game for those mythical things known as 'balance' and 'vision' and the fact that AES was BS) but it would have solved the world size issue.

Fundamentally though all these issues are a result of mis-management.

But I agree with you launching the game with such a huge world and a large number of severs just doomed it. Removing Kojan was my thought but seeing as how Thestra and Qualia were not polished having one of them may have been the way to go.
