Default Monitor advice

I'm looking to upgrade my BenQ FP91G+ monitor (19" 4:3) and am looking at the BenQ G2411HDA (24" 16:9). Anyone had any experience of this or any other comparably priced units?

EDIT

The monitor runs optimally at 1920 x 1080. Would an oldish 8800GTS be able to push these pixels?

The 8800 GTS is likely around a GTS 250 range, so it should be fine at more modest settings.

The contrast seems a bit low on that monitor though. Average is around 350, and high is 450. That one is at 300 according to a page I saw.

An 8800GTS should be just fine, that's what I have.

Aren't those contrast numbers basically just made up (i.e. BS)? I guess if I was going to make up random numbers like most of them do, I'd probably pick a higher number than BenQ did... Maybe they decided to be honest about it for some reason.

I think contrast is more guessworkd, but I don't think cd/m2 is.

Yeah, looks like that has to do with brightness. So a 300 cd/m2 monitor would be a touch less bright than the higher 450 cd/m2 types. Would that be noticible? Not sure. I don't know that I've ever seen two next to each other to compare.

Seems I may have been a bit wrong on the cd/m2 rating. I did an update for my site and noticed that every last one of the 16:9 1920x1080 monitors had 300 cd/m2 ratings. It looks like the higher 400 and 450 rating screens don't seem to appear on the 16:9s. So you are right where you should be.
