There's a new blog post today, detailing some specifics on things that ArenaNet is working on to get the game ready. They talk engineer tool belts, ranger pets, and more about cross profession combos.

My own reactions are mixed to this news...

First and foremost, it continues to be very awesome how polished and detailed their information releases are. They have kept the community informed and provided much more depth than pretty much any other MMORPG in development that I've ever seen.

The engineer toolbelt sounds really cool. It's basically a set of "secondary fire" skills for each skill you slot on the right side of your bar (sort of like the right-click option on guns in an FPS). I love having lots of options and utility...it sounds like the engineer will be able to put together some wild combinations of skills, and will always have a big variety to chose from.

Cross profession combos...AWESOME. The systems sounds like it is shaping up to be exactly what I was hoping it would be. This will be a ton of fun.

Ranger pets... meh. This was a bit of a letdown for me. Sounds pretty much like a simplified version of WoW hunter pets. I was expecting something a little more... cowbell.
