HEhe no prob, it's the same with my guys too. I don't mind playing alone anyway, it's why I went with a 2box. I love how this game plays like this, it's how Skyrim should have been :P I'm hoping to complete all the Veskal's area quests tonight. (Except for the URT quests, I was thinking of skipping those.) Last time I played some guy said to just do some of the bigger gear places in the 20's and 30's instead.

Yeah, leveling is so fast some of the teens gear gets out-leveled far too quickly. Back in the day getting to 20 meant something ;-)
Also I gather the podcast will be released on Monday, not that I'm playing past middle of Jan ;-)

Yeah it is fast, so it makes that gear a bit of a waste of time which is a shame.
I am pretty disappointed I can't do the Achatlan Spider Caves. They just were so strict with group vs solo content. Even with my duo (which is pretty strong), it's just too hard for me. I managed to kill the first two 4 dots by keeping one of them feared. Tough fight but I did it. But then after that there is a group of three 4 dots :P That aint gunna happen, unless I totally outlevel it but then it's not worth doing anyway. For a game with the slogan, "Set yourself free" it does bug me that it doesn't have the freedom that EQ did in this respect. Although I understand why they wanted to keep farmers out of dungeons. Oh well.
Still having fun though. I am almost done in this area and then I'm off to Misthaven which is one of my favourite areas

You're running a Disciple right? Can't you split the 4 dots? Also when does the DK get his AOE life-drain? Then you want more mobs.

Went with a Cleric in the end. Do you think I should switch if I wanna do dungeons?
edit: Ooooh level 18 for the AE drain!

Hmm. I think yes, but splitting is pretty painful in Vanguard because of the short leashes on most of the mobs.

Thanks man, I think I will give my Cleric a bit longer before I decide. I'm hoping once the DK gets area lifetaps at 18 it might make things easier. People on the official forum seem to love clerics and their ability to disrupt other healers later in the game, so I guess there are pros and cons of both.
I reckon by about 20, if I can't do group dungeons ok, I will switch him to a Disciple.
p.s. I am hoping once the Cleric can specialise it might help! Maybe Peacemaker!

Yeah the lifetap should help immensely. I've been at level 7 most of the day - been running around doing the Vulmane starting Dip quests. Never did them before and the quest lore is more interesting than the Raki and Tanvu starting Dip quests.
Sad to think that when SOE finally pulls the plug on Vanguard - all the interesting little bits: OT/DT, Diplomacy, etc. will go and it will be a loooooong time (if ever) that'll we'll see them in a new MMO.
Only SOE could screw good games up this badly (I feel for the SWG guys who lose their game today, though they lost most of it with the CU/NGE whatever that 'expansion' was called the gutted original SWG)

I know, it's too sad. There is so much I love about Vanguard, it's incredible to think that some day it will shut down. I'm gunna play now, I am going to try somewhere new from about 15-20 and then I'll head to Hillsbury

Yep. The Vulmane have a very long 'sleuth' type Diplomacy quest chain to start that's pretty good. I'm curious now what the other starting quests are like. The detective story element works much better than some of the standard griping & intrigue I remember from Tanvu diplomacy but maybe I missed the best diplomacy chain (didn't do a lot of it back in the day).

Highest I ever got with diplomacy was about 20 :/ I should do it again sometime.
Tonight and last night I did Blighted Lands which I haven't done before. It was really good! It got me to 18. I decided I would do the Hunter's League quests next, need to get some good gear.

Blighted Lands was on my leveling track I had a couple of years ago. It's a nice area with some good quests for that level. I am going to have to spend some time remembering the prime locations I had before for leveling.
I spend very little time and all ready have a lvl 15 disc. It's fun relearning the complexities of the class again. I am working through Kojan and enjoying the environment.

Kojan is some of the best sub 20 leveling. It was supposed to be a lot larger with a full leveling path to 50 (including, IIRC, a larger area with underwater adventureing), but that got cut before release.
I just hit 8 and am now working on Outfitting after leveling Dip to 6 or so. There's never any reason to hurry in this game. It falls off a cliff after 50 ;-)
Edit: Surtek if you're on US

I "did" crafting and diplo in my last time in VG, and I have no interest in repeating it. In adventuring, I like the challenge of putting down an enemy camp and the interest in advancing the class. Oh, I won't get to lvl 50 no matter how hard I cruise up the levels, so I am not worried.
Addan is now lvl 17, and probably lvl 18 later tonight. What's the best place after Blighted Lands?

I don't know the best place, but the Hunter's League is worth doing. It's good XP but the gear is great and will serve you well through most of the 20's. Here is a guide for it:

Yes, that is a good area for quests. I'm not interested in equipment right now and I think the Hunter's League quests are a little low for lvl 18. I think I am going to head over to Charbrook Village in Thresta. It is about lvl 20 and has a number of good enemy sites to conquer.
Thinking about it, there are so many good places to go in Telon. I'm going to miss a number of lvl 10-20 areas like Three Rivers/Renton and QA Riverbank/Temple of Dailuk. I probably should have done Veskel's/Misthaven or Ksaravi Gulch. Aaarrghh! It's a real crime this game did not succeed.

I know
Thestra is actually the only continent I really know, but I know it very well. I have leveled up about 5 or 6 characters now and I did most of them there, just because I love it so much. 3 rivers, veskals, etc. I reckon Misthaven area is my favourite place in the whole game. I love the spooky feel to it, and Hillsbury is like the icing on the cake. Silverlake is pretty much the same too.
