Default New Mouse

Looking to get a new mouse. Currently have a G500 from Logitech.

Desires:
More than three thumb/finger buttons. I need to map Heal (6), Target Nearest, Epic (0), activate Dodge. I'd like to be able to do Signets (7-9) but not needed.

Corded. I don't believe in wireless mice/keyboards. Not a requirement.

Well, I guess that's all. I thought I'd have more care about it, but I do not. Hrm.

Razer Naga. That's what I use. 12 buttons on the thumb with some raised bumps to get your bearings. 17 in total. Sounds a lot but once you get all of your abilities mapped to the thumb buttons and get a little practise in, you'll never look back. http://store.razerzone.com/store/raz...oryID.54536600

I'm still using a trackball *ashamed*

For mice, I hear this one is quite good -
It looks wacky, but supposedly VERY customizable and nice -

I was actually looking at the Razer Hex. Six buttons a bit bigger than the Naga. I'm concerned about the Naga cause they all look really close together and I'm not *that* good when I panic (which is any time I see an enemy player) so I get confused easily.

You should be ashamed. Who are you again in WvW? I need to be on a different server just to mess with you.

That mouse looks HOT. A horizontal thumb button? A D-Pad thumb button? Amazing.

Hahah!

p.s. I have a g500, three thumb buttons are a bit of a shame but I also bind stuff to the two sensitivity buttons, and the left/right scroll thing too. I kinda like how different things go in different places - helps me remember them all.

In WvW, I am "green warrior" or whatever the generic name is that they give to people from other servers.

If I get a mouse, it will probably be that Cyborg one. I have big hands and am very particular about feel and layout...I think being able to customize it that heavily is just perfect for someone like me.

Ohhh I forgot about the left hand! Yes, all important! I Run a Nostromo by Razer again. All those buttons may seem confusing to start Perfect but practise makes perfect. When it comes together you have an amazing amount of control. The grid on the thumb is the best configuration IMO. You soon get a feel for which button controls each ability etc

Wait, wait, you can remap the sensitivity buttons?

Yup, and the left right scroll too. So in addition to your 3 standard buttons, there are 7 more It's just a shame they didn't make the little switch to flick between clicky scrolling and smooth scrolling act as a button too, but we can't get everything we want all the time :P

Also, the Logitech macro software is pretty ok. I used it a lot the last time I played vanguard. I was 2 boxing and I realised after a while that while soloing (with my 2 characters) I would do the exact same routine in almost every fight. For example my tank would pull with a dot spell, then I would alt tab to my druid and cast a big dot, alt tab back to the tank and do a few hits and build some hate, then tab back to the druid and stack some bigger dots and nukes. And I could map that entire process to just one button using the software

I will probably do the same in GW2. I'm sure there is something that I do regularly which I can assign to the mouse. Also even stuff that you have to click can be macroed because the macro can just be told to click a specific place on the screen. It's powerful stuff.

Yeah I would be more afraid of the cat knocking that mouse onto my toe. I bet that would hurt!

If the cat got too near, the Cyborg MMO.7 would produce a small buzzsaw from under the scroll wheel and start chasing the cat around the desk. It tries to assimilate all living organisms into itself to become more powerful.

Real gamers have dogs, not cats.

Hearing bad things about the Cyborg MMO 7. Mostly has to do with faulty hardware (it being Madcatz and all that). Also, when attempting to Google the Cyborg MMO 7, do not forget the name and Google "Cyber MMO". You're gunna have a bad time.

That's weird. Most of the reviews I've seen were great. I did see a couple "I got a dud" reviews on Amazon and Newegg...but most are very positive.

*shrug* it is a lot of money for a mouse... You could probably just go with a $10 mouse and learn to play a little better.

There were actually a few times in GW2 where I was hitting the top-row number keys with my thumb. Yeah...it's going to take some getting used to and careful remapping of keys.

It actually is quite challenging to move at angles, dodge, and use all your skills at the same time.
