Anyone needing to upgrade their sound like my wife and I have to due to incompatibilities with our onboard, or generally want to grab one anyway given the quality difference:

Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer for $70, cheapest I could get one.

If you have a Micro Center near you (www.microcenter.com), they have the WD Caviar SE (SATA 300) 200gb 8mb cache internal drives on sale for an unbelieveable $54.95. It's even cheaper than NewEgg before the shipping costs.

I just jumped on 2 gigs of Corsair XMS C4 memory from Zip Zoom Fly. 158.00 free shipping AND 50.00 mail in rebate bringing it down to 108.00.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...ctCode=85025-6

Cheapest I had seen it previously was 135.00 and it's 160+ on New Egg as I type this.

Great price!

Those are down to 45 now, plus 6 bucks shipping..

Or you can go to Newegg and get a 250GB WD drive with 16MB cache for 59.99 and free shipping.

Found a nice deal on a case and PSU.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...u=ULT33183%20K

99.99 for a case + 700W modular PSU. 40 amps on the 12v rail (only 1 rail, but could probably power 2 8800GTS in SLI easily).

Spent a few hours looking up reviews and everything I found said it was rock solid. Lifetime warranty on both parts as well. MSRP on it is 179.99, and individually the PSU itself is around 100 bucks, so basically it's a free case.

Anyway, just ordered one since I have needed one for so long, so I'll give the verdict in a few days.

Default 2.1 Logitechs

These Pair of Logitechs normally go for $50+ in a store. I have $75 pair of logitechs (not the newest model), but still around the same quality of these for two years now. I saw this sale before and I had my dad jump on them. Well worth it. Unbeatable price vs quality.

I am thinking about buying them and selling mine for $35 because the way these sound even on like a sound blaster live 5.1 is in it's own league. Good for all types of music. No high pitch crap.

$32.99 With Free Shipping after promo code: EMC503FLOGI

Do they still work after all the jumping and crunching?

Woo-hoo misplaced modifiers can be fun!

I don't know whats going on with mine, they just dont have that smooth sound to them like those ones I linked. Lol, I should be a logitech salesman. Kinda like how people with money dont want to replace their car's factory stereo because it has a good sound to it.

Who cares? They're only 2.1 speakers.

Some people just don't care for the clutter. 2.1 is sometimes an overkill for an apartment. *Shrug*

Mixed bag on this one... BFG PhysX PPU now down to $144.

Finally it dips below the $150 mark that I originally told the owner back in the day that they should have launched at.

Now for the mixed part... it still isn't worth actually getting due to lack of support in games.

It may indeed need to get into the sub $75 range to reach true market saturation before devs would really consider using it. (Think about how many don't get sound cards, and they have been in this price range for years.)

Really one should come free when you buy a game.. kinda like when FPU's would come with mathsoftware back in the day.

I'd bet long before they are free they will (read here probably Intel first) be placed onto motherboards like the on-board sound is today.

However, it will probably be the 3rd true generation or later before they get it shrunk down and cheap enough to consider doing that. The question still remains if they can survive this first generation since they are struggling so hard to get developer interest and hit a saturation price point.

Again, how they thought a specialized part like this would be adopted by even the high-end consumers is beyond me considering how many resist getting a $50-100 sound card which they know is supposed to improve performance in all applications. It boggles the mind.

I was doing some price checks today for my Syst3mZ page and noticed these... don't think many will be interested, but here they are nonetheless...

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 now down to $535 - this was $660 when I first created the page only 2 weeks ago. Appears to be a permanent drop.

Dell 30" 3007WFP-HC currently on sale for $1270 (down from the regular $1500)
