Default Finally getting ready to purchase...

... a new monitor.

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16824014105

The price is pretty right. And I'm sure that's a big deal to me in the long run, but can anyone see anything wrong with this one? Or perhaps have a better suggestion?

Thanks in advance,

That is the monitor I currently have, had to return my Viewsonic due to a backlight failure.

I am really happy with it, no dead pixels, clean and simple design. Like with most lcd's you cannot adjust the height, but that is very minor. No-glare surface provides almost no interference even with the sun coming in the windows behind me.

Do a bit of searching, NewEgg sometimes has an OEM/Opened box model, last I saw was about $70 cheaper if you are willing to gamble a bit.

I also have the monitor, bought it earlier this year. Is a nice size, my first LCD and widescreen heh. Is very fun, only downside to widescreen is some games not being made for that. (Still can play them with black bars around screen, so its ok).

You should also be able to set the monitor / software to stretch that to force-fit into 16:10 aspect.

I hate distorted image ratio so I never stretch images, but some peeps do.

Bad Rabb1t, BAD!! Stretched images are the heart of all evil! Well, maybe not quite that bad, but yuck... Black bars are tolerable, at least when compared to the squashed toads look of some stretched games...

Yes, but we who are good must point out that the evil peeps can enjoy widescreen as well - lest not the goodness of widescreen be spreaduth upon all gamers.
