Greets. My 13-year-old daughter has a cube and I am looking for recommendations for cooperative games we can play together.

I am not interested in stuff like SSX where you both play on a split screen, but you are essentially playing solo. I actually enjoyed a SpongeBob game she rented once where 2 characters work together to serve Krabby Patties.

I'd be most interested in puzzle games in the vein of Tetris and Luminous, but also might like action or RPG games. Plain ol' shooters, not so much.

What suggestions and/or warnings do you all have for me?

My college friends and I had a blast playing the Mario Party series on the N64, so I cannot imagine that they'd be any less fun on the Game Cube.

We also enjoyed Super Smash Bros. on the N64. There is a version for the Game Cube as well which I have not personally played, but have heard good things about it from the same folks that loved duking it out on the N64 version.

The N64 is the last Nintendo product that I have purchased so I don't know much else about games for it. Hope that little bit of info helps.

edit: I wanted to add that if you're not familiar with these titles both really aren't co-op games at their cores, but have options of making it 2P vs 2Comp and various other vs modes. And neither have a "story." Mario Party is like a Board Game full of mini-games while SuperSmash is a fighting game with very simple input commands, items, and dynamic environments; one of the first of such fighters made for consoles iirc.

I suggest that you go to gamestop.com and look up all of the good multiplayer games.

Any gamecube mario party would be great, its basically a board game type thing if you ahvent played it, you "hit" a die and move so many spaces and at the end of the round you do a mini game. If you and her played it they would be the team things that you seem to be looking for. I have the first one and it is great, and i think theyre are around 3 for gamecube.

Super Smash Brothers Melee is my favorite gamecube game actually, im not sure wether i would recommend it to alot of people though, it takes a while to get used to and to be any good at it you have to have some skill. This is however not a co op game, there is a single player mode and a Vs. mode where you could fight each other, and plenty of unlockable characters to get though.

Get Mario Kart . One of you can drive and the other can throw the various weapons you pick up, this is also one of my favorite gamecube games. You can unlock various cars in this game and me and my brother actually beat it together to get the last car, a real good multiplayer game. You can also race each other if you want to do that as well. Pretty hard in the later difficulties, if you are trying to unlock the cars though.
