There was a bug where, during periods of heavy load, it would take time for the server list to actually appear. Might still be true, but then it could also mean that the servers just aren't up yet.

Yeah, they gotta be adding more servers/shards. I hope to find one that doesnt go boom every 5 to 20 minutes (at least when the chunks went down, you could dive back in right away most times.. and it might have been from them working on things in the background that caused the crashes, dunno).

Thank goodness for Silky Venom, the official forums are hammered into paste. (though whats new, just more than usual heh)

Of course, I'm guessing within the next few hours we're going to be hammered to paste also if the official forums don't start acting a little better.

The forums are down, or at least partly. I sneaked on just before they went down, and I saw what appeared to be completely empty Beta General Chat and News forums. So it seems they are cleaning up all the old posts.

As for the servers, give them time, they only took them down this morning, so they haven't had a lot of time to adjust.

Personally, now there will be more than 200 people on pvp, I will join one of those.

I hope they transfer newbie resources over. [And very glad some vague premonition saw me copy out the content last night. And then there's the stuff from the sub-forums, like the crafting and diplomacy info...]

Makes me wonder if our characters are being wiped again or if the old server is still going to be around. I just dinged 25 Weaponsmith, I don't want to have to do that again any time soon =p

Aye ...If most are like me they're going thru a 4 hour+ dl atm.

I was hoping to get a little more testing in before the rush, but it looks like it isn't going to happen.

I think the person that said it's a heavy log on load is the most right. It's done this a lot to me before and I just thought the servers were down but when I was able to get in after a few more tries there were like 1600+ people on. Normally when the server is down down you'll see it on the list with a loading message for a while before it actually goes up.

I stand corrected. The official word is the servers are DOWN for at least another hour and a half.

Have you been on the real boards lately? I can't get anything to come up to link. You'll have to take my word for this one. Since it's already pushing 6PM and still no servers I think that points towards it being "reliable."

The patch servers are up, but the game servers are not. That's why you can patch and then sit at the server select screen indefinitely. Once they get the client installed on all the launch servers, they'll connect them to the patch server, and you'll be able to play!
