Default Station Access Subscribers Given Beta Key

One of the benefits to being a Station Access subscriber came in their email this morning in the form of an Vanguard Open Beta Key.

With so many avenues available for acquiring a beta key, it is becoming difficult to not call it truly open beta. The remaining difference appears to be that Sigil is carefully maintaining the ability to keep troublemakers out. In a "truly open beta", where access to the game is given freely, that would be impossible.

Thats nice. But is that for currently active Station Access accounts only or do you get a beta key if you plan to upgrade to the Station Access today or tomorrow?

Since I have not seen anything official from SOE, I am wondering....

Default Odd...I never got anything

Been a station access member for quite some time now. I pre-ordered Vanguard last week from the online Sony Store. Got my confirmation email with pre-order number and a digital key ended by -order.

Went to the key consume link after I registerd giving computer specs et et.

Point being...I followed all instructions. I did not recieve what you are talking about. Maybe I will get it later. I'd love to play before live but if I can't..shrug..I'll play after the 30th.

Did it say Congratulations, you have consumed a beta key. Or something similar after you clicked to consume the key?

Where is this information officially posted? I've been a Station Access member for a very long time, and have not received anything stating that I have a Vanguard beta key.

Thanks,
Rigel

That's interesting. I honestly don't know how widespread it is. They may have only sent keys to station access members who have met certain requirements.

I suspect that you'd have to be subscribed to one of the the SOE newsletters.

Thanks for the info. I posted on the EQ2 forums as well, and several people stated they have received a key as well. Fooey, and really wanted to try it out.

Thanks again for the quick response!

Default Finaly got in...

Found out as Station Access member I did not need to use a key. I just downloaded game...and logged in as my existing Station access account. Got in to beta server no problem.

Where have people been downloading the beta from? I tried fileplanet, but have yet to have the download successfully complete - it always just hangs after a few hours.

Is there another place I should try?

Never mind - after I got a beta key from Gamona (Yay!) and registered the key, I got a pointer to the client. It's been updating ever since...

See you all in game!

Where did you register? I got my key from Gamona, which sent me to

https://secure.station.sony.com/vanguard/betaReg

to register. When my registration was completed, I got sent to another page which had a link to the client (http://download.station.sony.com/pat.../vanguard.zip).

The download completed quickly (it's only 11.5MB) and I unzipped it and fired it up. THAT's when the real download started! That finished sometime while I was sleeping (12+ hours later), but at least it worked.

Good luck!

Are 12yo's allowed to post in here??? I thought you had to certify that you were 13. Especially with 2.5 million copies of WOW xpak sold I was hoping that the kiddies would stay with their favorite cartoon.
