Default A Moment in Vanguard History

Suzanne Owen, aka GM-Keejay, dropped a gem into our player-submitted screenshots gallery yesterday afternoon. It is a screenshot capturing the moment of the first ever player to reach level 50 in Vanguard, Silky Venom guild leader Leto Eu`Acumen.

As you can probably tell from the look of the UI, this was quite some time ago.

So, a belated congrats to Leto, and a big thanks to Keejay for snapping this milestone moment in Vanguard's history!

And while you're in the player-submitted gallery, why not submit some of your own Vanguard moments?

Err... how long was the beta running at that point in time?!?
I mean - wasn't Vanguard to last for a while? Leto might be a very good player and all, but I seems as if he or others like him will reach the end game aka "Level 50 in all three spheres" way before the first extension - something meant to be nearly impossible. Or not?

But still, congratulations Leto.

If it makes you feel any better, I was playing an inhuman amount at the time...and in the upper 40's I was still pushing a week per level. (Lower levels were quite a bit faster than that of course).

That was a long time ago compared to now the game would be almost unrecognizable.

As far as now goes, it all depends on how long till the first expansion is released.....if it is say...9 months or so, then Folks could pretty much advance as far as they can advance in all 3 spheres by then....but not very many folks. I mean less than 1% of folks here. You'd have to be able to spend an enormous amount of time with the game, and you'd have to *want* it. There are loads of folks who play fairly hardcore who just don't like to craft or won't care to go through a ton of diplomacy (even though both systems are quite enjoyable imo).

Will it be possible? Yes, I expect so. Will many people achieve it before the first expansion? Nope.

Fear not. The game will have a long enough curve. It starts up easy then curves up and keeps going up till you wonder just how steep it is gonna get There is no lack of content either.

Nobody will get to 50 and have seen everything there is to see in the Adventuring Sphere, I promise. There is just too much there to do.

I never got close to 50 in all 3 spheres (Diplomacy was unbearable at the time - it has been completely re-done from the ground up since.), and I still spent more time adventuring than crafting even after 50.

Yes, that actually makes me feel better. I still remember the moment in Horizons when roughly a week after release somebody made it to level 100 first.
One result was, that all events were made for players that reached levels above 30 in no time which left a lot of the casual players behind. And that sucked...
Second result was, that the complaints about missing content in the 80s and 90s was making the company ignore the lower level ranges, which would have needed closer attention. The rest (and Horizons) is history.

The first 10 levels are pretty fast, but at 10 you immediately notice that it has slowed down. By 20'ish you notice it again and so on. It ramps up pretty good.

To get a high level in Vanguard you do have to earn it. It will seem fast to folks at first, but don't let that fool ya.

Wow, congratulations. That makes you the only person who can truely speak with authority about what the game is like at all levels

Other people got 50 after I did.

That said, the age of anybody being able to talk about how the game progressed all the way to 50 ended something a half a year ago. There was a full character wipe going into Beta 3...Qalia was rolled out, not too long after Thestra was completely locked off....Kojan was released....Thestra began to reopen but it had received a big facelift with major updates.

The game is so much more evolved now than it was a year ago....6 months ago....3 months ago......Last week even

The truth of the matter is, we (the players) are not going to fully know what the trip to 50 is like nowadays including the upper 40's until after the release.
