EU-server always down WHY? & NO Collectors Edition in UK WHY?

Now we have had a patch and most of the US servers are again up but guess what....Yup you got it EU server still down again and we are not even at the launch date yet. But this is just a small problem as many more emerged during this day, many of the people in the UK who have supported Sigil and hung in there through thick and thin are being slapped in the face yet again. Why I hear you ask?

Well all you good people who went out of your way to pre-order the collector edition will not be getting it for at least 9 to 10 weeks from any where in the UK as they are not even ready according to sources from GAME UK. This is what will happen if you pre-ordered and used a loyalty card, you have to go to your local store and the representative who took your order will call Game Customer Services for you and provide evidence by way of till number ECT.

Then you can either re-order a copy of the collectors edition which they advice could at least take 9 to 10 weeks to be delivered. Or you can take a normal copy for free. GREAT I HEAR YOU ALL SHOUT!!! Well no because they will not give you a copy which game shops will have in stock you will have to have your details sent to Sigil/SOE who will some time in the future send you out a free copy of vanguard normal addition which could take anywhere from 7 to 10 days and may be more depending on the representative who deals with your case. So do not expect to be having it for Tuesdays start day.

So basically we are in the lap of the gods, when I suggested to my local games store manager that he should contact his Head office and try and get Sigil/SOE to arrange a digital download he said he would try to get someone to recommend this idea but said the chances are that this would not even be considered due to the many problems there have been trying to get the game to shops in the short time they had and they are not in a position to advice Sigil or SOE what to do.

I got the impression that this idea would not get off the ground because GAME would not get their money for the product they have to re-order. So now if some nice person from Sigil would like to may be enlighten us on WTF has gone wrong it would be much appreciated.

Having had time to think long and hard while the servers have been down, I do understand that no game comes out without teething problems but like I posted the other day I saw the problems before we got our EU server and I believe they will get worse. When you took down the US servers it seemed everyone came to the EU servers to create character and that made them even worse. I see this going to be the problem in the future so I wish you guys at SOE+Sigil the best of luck trying to find a solution.

But having committed my hard earnt money to pre-order and been left disappointed I feel ripped off and annoyed that I supported you in beta and defended stoutly on the vg forums just to be slapped in the face like this, I feel so let down. So I will let Tuesday come around and then I will see the out come of the phone call to USA and decide weather I will be a part of VG or not.

Have any of the people in USA or any where else had the same feed back about the collector’s edition as we have?

I also remember seeing the picture of the collector’s edition on the VG website the other day declaring this is for you!!! I felt all warm inside. GOD HOW GULABLE, YEAH RIGHT thanks for that BRAD nice one mate and we all believed you too.

is this really true??
that no collectors edition is available in UK?? (or low stock)
it seem strange that 2 online stores (GAME and Play.com) stopped selling the collectors edition a few days ago
thought it was strange that this game would sell out

but there are still places selling them
i ordered 2 colletors edition from a Guernsey site(1 for my cousin)

and a normal ediction (for my Bro) at Play.com
which has already dispatched (so it should arrive on release day)

would be stupid if only my bro get his copy
and i need to wait till i get mine

was already not happy that i didnt get a pre-order pack
emailed that Guernsey site and they said they will have it
then i started reading forums and realise that GAME has it exclusive in UK

You're not the only one angry about this, but please don't immediately blame Sigil. Both issues seem to be down to (yet more) screw ups by our beloved Sony (who are handling both servers and distribution).

but is this really true??
and how low stock is it??

there a online store that just started to take pre-orders this week
and they have collectors version available for pre-order
is it cause they dont know they wont get stock

or is it only Game that aint getting enough stock??

So how are you guys coming along now?

There aren't many replies to this thread, but just to balance it out a little I should add that I'd ordered the CE with play.com on 4th Jan and the order shipped today (29th). Hopefully it should arrive tomorrow or Wednesday.

I realise this distribution is incredibly frustrating, but the only blame you can really lay at Sigil's door is with their choice of partner (Sony). And who knows whether any other choice (e.g. MS) would have gone more smoothly. Unfortunately there are penalties for ordering US games from European distributors when it comes to special editions. Not that it's much help now, but I usually find Play to be about as good as they get.

I wish you a speedy resolution.

was thinking of starting the game with my bro and cousin
at the same time

now me and my cousin (i ordered 2 collectors) dunno when we will get our order

where my brother who ordered a normal version (didnt think the items was worth the extra money) already recieved it monday morning (29th 1 day before release)

I had pre ordered the collector's edition off Amazon with an initial EDD of 31st. However, as of lunchtime today (30th) there was no sign of them despatching it and the site was now saying delivery between 1~2 weeks for both editions of the game although my order was still optimistically suggesting tomorrow. I went to the local GAME where I bought the basic game and cancelled the Amazon order.

GAME didn't stock the CE and were categorical that it didn't exist in the UK at the present time. Having said that though they ALSO maintained the game wasn't released until tomorrow. Fortunately I was able to convince them it was today and got my copy of the game. Now all I have to wait for is the servers to get turned on in Amsterdam and the interminable patching process!

I spoke to game manager who confirmed no CE in UK and that's for everyone, so would be intersting to see if any of you guys get it. Today 31/01/07 I got my free copy of basic VG as like I posted if you did pre-order CE from Game they send out this free copy. I now have the game and it was free. So that has made up for the let down some what.

I truly wanted the CE due to the art book and am gutted but the thought of waiting 9 to 10 weeks was not an option for me. We still getting shafted with the servers being down longer than US so this needs addressing now.
