Trial Subscription?
I'm sorry if this is what was being talked about in the other thread, but that seemed to be focused on the login problem. I did the Sony Station direct download pre-order and I'm having problems. I wanted to set-up my month-to-month billing, but it gives this message when I go to my accound and click on Vanguard:
"You are on a trial subscription. You can continue to play until the end of the rental period. If you wish to play after that, please buy the game."
When I click "Next" it gives me the message;
"Please enter your 20-digit Account Key. You can find this code on the Vanguard: Saga of Heroes disc holder."
I don't have a 20-digit account key because I downloaded the game. Is it that they haven't officially noted that I purchased it? Will this be set up in a few days when they do? Sorry for the panic, I just don't want to get shut out of VG, have to go through a painful refund process and then just go buy retail.

Sounds like you should contact SOE's customer support to get it taken care of.

I ordered through Amazon, got the appropriate pre-order code from them. Started playing Friday.
But, as of last night, the game won't let me in. It wants the code from the jewel case, which I don't have yet (it's in transit from Amazon).
I guess I'm SOL until the jewel case with the "real" code shows up from Amazon.

I'd still contact SOE to get it straightened out since you're supposed to be able to play until you get the cd key.

Just curiocity, do they really call it that first month for 'trial'?
I don't think so. We bought the first month with package 'included one month'.
That's not trial.

I had this problem as well, I got my download from Direct2Drive.com and all I had to do was go to there site and they gave me my new key. Actually they E-Mailed me telling me that my new key was available and I needed to visit them. But in the end I didn't actually have to use the key yet, I got the error that you are getting once, but when I tried a second time it let me log in. Supposedly we don't have to actually register our keys until this Friday, this was due to the fact that the SOE site was receiving so much traffic that no one could get through. I tried for a good 30-40 minutes yesterday to register my key but I couldn't even get past the log-in page before my browser told me it was to busy. But that's when I decided to go ahead and try Vanguard again and I didn't get that message like I did the first time (the one you're getting now). I'm not exactly sure why but you should be able to log on with your Beta key until this Friday, and by then you need to make sure you Receive and Register you're actual key.

If you bought it from the sony store (download) I don't think you're going to get a key at all. My understanding was that they'd just flag your account and you were good. Maybe they just haven't flagged these accounts yet.

yes. the original post about this was that our accounts would be flagged. so, if that still holds true, the digital downloads will not need a key.
