0 Silky Venom Guild > Policies

Introduction
Our policies here are not much different from those you should already be following. Don't use foul or vulgar language. Don't do anything that someone else might find objectionable or insulting. In other words, use your head and act like an adult. See our Rules of Conduct for more information.

We will have regular guild events including raids (when implemented), contests, meetings, harvesting groups, etc. We will hold contests within our guild, as well as for the people of Telon at large. Events are not mandatory, but a successful guild relies on its members to be regular participants. All events will be announced ahead of time, and there will be a time to add in your comments, gripes, and compliments. Everyone has a different play schedule so please let us know if you have an idea for an event that you will volunteer to sponsor, especially if you have a regular play time that is different from a lot of guild members. We don’t want anyone to be left out!

Silky Venom Leadership
Silky Venom is co-lead by Guild Leaders. Nomras and Wildenae handle the adventuring sphere while Leadariel handles the crafting and diplomacy spheres. We also have a strong group of officers that help to make Silky Venom the great guild that we are. Officers are involved with the everyday workings of the guild, including inviting new members, handling any possible disputes, message board activity and event planning for the guild.

1. Recruitment Officers – Vandeen and Areanna

2. Raid Officers - TBD (to coordinate targets, raid strategy, class functionality, etc.)

3. Event Officers - TBD (to coordinate guild functions, such as meetings [including keeping chat transcripts and posting them or summaries on members forum for those who couldn't attend], contests, guild events, server events, harvesting parties, etc.)

4. Quest Officers - TBD (to coordinate and stay abreast of quest lines for gear or other items that folks would want to do, and to keep track of who is on what step by organizing it in the forums)

Quests
The completion of large quest lines can sometimes only be achieved by a combination of great effort by the player, their friends, and often their guild as well. As such, these quest lines are often a source of much emotion, and occasionally, great conflict, because of the sheer amount of effort involved.

Members are responsible for keeping the forums updated with their current status on quest lines that the Quest Officer is tracking if they wish to receive assistance. The Quest Officer’s job is to organize these types of major quest lines – not micromanage everyone’s quest journal. In addition, members are encouraged to be active in completing the solo or single-group components of their quests.

Crafting
We have an active body of crafters and harvesters who donate a lot of time to help out the guild. If you are a crafter, please let Leadariel know you are willing to help. If you are not a crafter, you should help by harvesting the raws needed and send them to the crafter needing those items or to Leadariel for guild distribution.

Please post your crafting requests - either the items you need made or the raw materials you need to make them - in the forums. You can also send in-game mail to the crafter directly rather than just making a request in chat. If you put it in writing, you have a better chance of getting what you need made more quickly because our crafters won’t have to write it down on a sticky and remember to make it (and remember who asked)!

Don’t forget to view our crafters’ needs as well. They have different recipe drops they need camped by adventurers, items they need for deconstruction, and resources that they need in order to craft for the guild. Everyone is expected to pitch in where they can. There is no charge for crafting within the guild; however, please specify if you are requesting something made for a friend outside the guild and expect to compensate the crafter. Together we provide a valuable service for all of Silky Venom!

Diplomacy
Please post in the forums if you expect to have a lengthy crafting or adventuring session somewhere diplomacy levers can be pulled to assist you. Once diplomacy levers are maxed, it takes about 3 hours for them to reset to their normal levels. Type /citystatus in game to see if there is civic diplomacy available in your location.

Silky Venom Raiding
[Speculation at this point in time]

Guilds exist for the purpose of a combined group of individuals acting toward a common goal. Raiding will be a major focus of the guild once raid content is implemented. We expect Vanguard raids to require groups of well-coordinated, well-equipped individuals all working together as a team to be able to accomplish raid goals.

Raid schedules and sign-ups will be listed on the forums. If you sign up, then you are expected to attend. If you think that will be a problem, then don’t sign up. If you know you are a “maybe”, please sign up with that caveat so we don’t count on you and have to cancel a raid.

Strategies and ideas are to be discussed on the forums. All ideas are welcome, but we can not have 24 people all trying to lead the raid. That is the Raid Officer’s job, and it is expected that people will listen to that individual for the duration of the raid. Reasonable effort should be taken to keep the raid channel and Ventrilo free from random, non-raid related conversation. It is very important that all members pay attention to this channel (and to Ventrilo if used) as it is where raid specific plans, info and commands will be done. Members are not required to talk in Ventrilo, but everyone should listen to what is going on if Ventrilo is being used by the Raid Officer.

All official raids will have a posted start time and end time. Members should make a best effort to be at the raid meeting place on time and to stay until the official end time. Raids may on occasion extend past the official end time, and members are encouraged but never expected to stay past the end time.

Loot Rules
Loot in exp groups of only guild members will be done via need-before-greed, with items going to those who can best use them.

Raids where no guild leader or officer is present will also be decided via need-before-greed, ties broken by /random roll.

Experience groups who are not fully composed of guild members are up to the individual groups to decide how to handle loot.

Loot dropped during an official guild raid is the property of the guild. Items will be awarded based on general guild participation and the best interests of the guild as a whole as determined the leadership team.

Rare and better loot will be awarded by a consensus of the leadership team directly. Decisions are based on the needs of the individual, their looting status as defined below, as well as greater good of the guild. Great care is taken in determining loot awards, and the decisions are final.

There will be three looting statuses, “A” status, “B” status, and Guest status. Member’s alts, initiates and other non-members will be given a Guest status. Members who maintain the 66% or greater raid attendance will be given “A” status. Members who do not meet the 66% minimum will be given a “B” status. In the case of several persons on the raid being deserving of the same item, with no measurable benefit to guild of one player over another, preference will be given to the “A” status over the “B” status, and the “B” status will have preference over the Guest status.

Uncommon loot will be /random rolled by “A” and “B” status players among the class(es) that can “best use” the item, with these class(es) to be decided by the leadership team. Common loot will be /random rolled among any raid members interested.

No drop items that are unwanted by guild members may be looted by Guest status players who are present at the raid. Only in the case of an item being unwanted by any person currently at the raid may a member log on an alt to loot the item, failing that, the item my be offered to anyone in the area so that it doesn’t rot to oblivion.

Tradeable items that are unwanted by raid members will go to the guild bank. Raid members should not /random on items just to sell them. Guild members who need items from the guild bank for personal use may ask for them at any time.
