0 Moving - What to do with all my PC games? (mid-Michigan area) O F F I C I A L    V A N G U A R D    F O R U M S
Aug 29, 2006 - 12:40 AM - by GM Fessius
I kind of know what you're going through. I moved pretty recently, but I've refused to get rid of most of my games. Seriously, I still have copies of Might & Magic 1 and 2 around somewhere.

If you really decide to get rid of them, Ebay will work for a couple of them. Classic games are actually collectable now and you might get more than you figured you could.

0 So.. Snakes on a Plane releases tomarrow. O F F I C I A L    V A N G U A R D    F O R U M S

I went to see it at the 10:00PM showing last night with a large group. It was a bad movie, but we had a great time. It's definitely the type of movie you want to see in a crowd. This is the type of movie that you really need audience interaction.

That all said, we had a pretty good time.

0 Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, or....*gulp* Archer? O F F I C I A L    V A N G U A R D    F O R U M S

Picard is probably favorite, mainly because TNG was the series when I really became a Trek fan.

Kirk is 2nd, followed by Sisko and then Janeway. I never really got into watching Enterprise, so have no real opinion of Archer.

Transformers is definately #1 for me, followed closely by Macross/Robotech.

I have all the episodes of Transformers on DVD. The Transformers movie and the Headmasters movie on VHS that never airs in the U.S.

I also have all the Robotech episodes, the unbastardized Macross, and the original Southern Cross on DVD.

0 2007 TMNT Movie TRAILER O F F I C I A L    V A N G U A R D    F O R U M S
Jul 24, 2006 - 05:40 PM - by GM Fessius
When the trailer first started, I got excited as I thought they might actually follow the original comics more closely. Darker, grittier, and much more violent. And then it got to the end and my hopes were dashed.

I'll still watch it though.

0 Whats so Cool about MUD's? O F F I C I A L    V A N G U A R D    F O R U M S
Jul 12, 2006 - 02:40 PM - by GM Fessius
I'd say MUDs can generally be addictive for all the same reasons an MMO is addictive. You still have that feeling of competition and of trying to keep up that drives someone to continue to play. (And skip class to continue to play.)

There's some areas where MMO's haven't quite caught up with MUDs as well. Things like player policed communities and roleplaying still haven't been done as well on some MMO's I've worked on.

You can actually have a successful MUD with 100% open PVP, full corpse robbing capability and player enforced laws and not have it fall apart. The smaller community means people are generally much more careful about their behavior.

[quote=Bent_Spear]Drakken, an interesting little RPG for the SNES, even had after the credit rolls "Coming soon... Drakken II!" or something like that QUOTE]

I played that game for PC many years ago too. Unfortunately, it didn't run well on my system, (8086) CGA Monitor FTW. So I didn't get far. But it did seem like a fantastic game.

Sentinel Worlds I: Future Magic.

I mean come on, you put 'I' in the title and never came out with II!! It was a great game, with a huge world and lots to do.

Maybe they just couldn't figure out a way to top the first one. What's better than jumping into a nerf arena with a vibroblade?
