So you are basically asking for a story that has nothing to do with the lore, but just be a mom-and-pop type of story? Since we cant say that, Long time ago, there was a Dwarf that shaped history. We have to say, Long time ago, there was a dwarf that did nothing but has a tale about him?

I dunno, im just seriously confused at the limitations... It cant be a story with substance, since substance would 'shape or mold' the current world. It cant deal with dieties... And it cant even be like the Blue Crystal Staff story the old man tells in DragonLance... I suppose it cant hint at anything... Cant talk about Dragons or a famous dwarf...

Its fiction, but fiction has a setting, and this setting has to be 'related' to Vanguards/Telon's, but it cant BE Vanguard/Telon... Hrmm, well, heres to hopin that my current story doesnt get DQ'd, and if it does, oh well.
Think of it this way...

In "Real Life" we have fantasy fiction that has nothing to do with our world, such as The Lord of The Rings and the Belgariad series.

Submissions should be "Fantasy" fiction but not something related to the world of Vanguard directly with places, persons, events, etc.

The best gimmick (scam) I have seen is the poetry contest. You write a short poem for a poetry contest. They come back and tell you that it is a finalist and that it WILL be featured in an exclusive leather bound volume of all the Finalists that you can purchase for like $50!. Your poem will be in there along with all the other sucker's poems!
