Hey everyone,
Like Nick, I have tried to respond to this post and it’s so hard.
I wanted you all to know that as a family, we decided to keep his illness a private matter for many reasons. We hope you all can understand that.
I want to share some of my thoughts and feelings with you all now. While battling Leukemia for the past 16 months, Keith fought every step of the way and never gave up hope, but in the end it was more than his body could handle. He was an inspiration to everyone that knew him and he will be greatly missed. He was the most amazing man I have ever met and am very thankful that he and I had the time we did together. It is time that I will cherish forever. Keith touched so many lives and it is important that we all remember his great spirit and how he loved life. It isn’t even possible for me to put into words how truly amazing he really was.
I wanted to share a little story with you all. When I first started working at Sigil (May 2002), Brad told me that Keith Parkinson was going to be our Art Director and that I needed to contact him and work with him to book his flight to LA for E3. Brad told me that Keith would be expecting my call. I called Keith the next day, introduced myself, got all the flight/hotel info figured out, then proceeded to chat with him (about nothing in particular) for over 2 hours! When I hung up the phone with Keith, I called my sister and told her that I’d just talked to the man that I was going to marry. She told me I was nuts (but that wasn’t news to me). There was something about his voice and something about our conversation that day that told me he was meant to spend the rest of his life with me. I am heartbroken that his life and our time together was cut so short. I am forever grateful for the joy and love he brought to my life and I will never forget him. I am truly honored to have been a part of his life.
In reading all the posts and the countless emails I have received, I want you all to know that on behalf of the entire Parkinson family, we are so grateful for all the love and support and we are moved by reading about how he touched so many lives.
The world has lost a truly great man. Man his memory live in the hearts of those who loved him forever.
