Maybe I can send Jack Thompson a copy.

He'd probably sue me for sending it.. might be fun though.

Smed: "I know dear, but that was before a guild member called to inform me that uber_rare_named_spawn_001 was up, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity"
Mrs. Smed: "well, you said NO raiding, NO exceptions"
Smed: "but honey, this is a special circumstance"
Mrs. Smed: "you gave me your word John, and i'm expecting you to honor it, i'll be in the den setting up the board"

Mrs. Smed leaves the room, only Smed and Smed Jr. remain:

Smed: "sorry son, but your mothers right, I gave her my word"
Smed Jr.: "but dad! we might never get this chance again!"

Smed whispers something into Smed Jr's ear, and Smed Jr. bolts from the room nearly in tears:

Smed Jr. arrives seconds later in the den, eyes welled up with tears:

Smed Jr.: "Please mom?"

Mrs. Smed, unable to bear the thought of her child in such a state, succumbs to his pleas:

Smed Jr. arrives back in the game room moments later, smiling:

Smed snickers: "see son, works every time...... Scrabble.... pfft... "

I'm gonna have to search my house for cameras now....

actually only one rule about games.. we don't let them play them on school days. Friday night, Sat and Sun only... and only if they keep good grades. My son went a whole semester once without video games of any kind a year ago because he didn't live up to his end of the bargain. Hasn't happened since though.

Nothing like talking about a corpse run on a bus, or poping a guy in the head with a sniper rifle on bf2....you get weird looks and such....

Smed....tell us how you get away with this anti-womanus act and still get all the babes to your game!!

oh "anti-womanus" isn't something I can get away with in my house.. my other 3 kids are girls. The oldest two (9 and 6) play ToonTown (and some Barbie stuff) the youngest plays on Nick.com all the time. ToonTown is a really good game for kids btw. A lot of us at SOE have kids that play it. I like it because they can't chat with other people w/o actually knowing the person in real life.

They also play a game called Runescape which most people haven't heard of. Go check out buzz.yahoo.com and look in the video game section and see what's #1. It's been that way for over 2 1/2 years btw and has around 4 million players (almost all in the US). My kids heard about it at school, not from me. It was a little weird coming home from work one day and having them sitting there playing an MMO without it having been something I introduced them to. The power of word of mouth (especially in kids) is unbelieveable.

can't speak for Brad on this one.. but no, my wife doesn't really enjoy playing video games with me. She's more into card games and board games. I do however play the heck out of games with my son (he's the oldest) who is 11. There is something very cool about that. Just last weekend we were in a squad together in BF2 and he capped one of the guys at work (who shall remain nameless but will get a link to this thread) 3 times with headshots. That fact has me just as proud as if he had made 3-pointers in a basketball game.

Of course then he got me in trouble coming into the family room later last weekend talking about how he had got the knife ribbon... my wife wasn't too thrilled about that.

To put your mind at ease.. this is Sigil's game and it's staying that way. Brad and the Sigil team have done a phenomenal job.. they don't need any gameplay advice.
