She hit the nail on the head.

My opinions based on research I have done over the years regarding Pit Bulls (They are a pretty popular breed in my home state of Kentucky)
Pit Bulls have throughout history been bred to NOT attack people. They were bred to fight other dogs, and part of that was the need to be able to separate the dogs, and that involves the dogs not ripping the owners hand/arm/leg/head off. Ask any vet what type of dog bites them the most. Small Breed dogs bite way more than large breed dogs. You don't hear much about it because small breed dogs don't do as much damage.
Due to the dog fighting heritage Pit Bulls exhibit a very high level of Dog Vs Dog aggression. This is almost impossible to remove. If you have a Pit Bull don't expect it to play with other dogs, you're just asking for trouble. Things may go well, but all it takes is one screw up and a fight breaks out. It doesn't matter who started the fight, the Pit Bull's going to end it, and the Pit Bull's going to get blamed for it. (Dogs raised together are another story, I'm talkin dog park here)
Part of their fighting bloodlines also includes tremendous power and pain threshold. Any dog can be trained to be aggressive towards people. This training can come through neglect, mistreatment, or direct training to be aggressive to people. When a dog as powerful and tolerant to pain as a Pit Bull attacks someone the results are never good.
I breed is not at fault, the negligent people are. Unfortunately due to the sheer power of the dogs I think something does need to be done to ensure the safety of the general public. Licensing is a good start, harsher penalties for negligent people (Owners, and PARENTS) is a better one.

We have Sigil Soccer Jerseys. We ordered a bunch and shipped them off to the guy that does our logo gear and had him put logos and a badge on them.
