I had 990 strength the other night grouped with a cleric and a disciple. There are likely some wonky things with buff stacking allowing that to happen.
If only lesser giants could be rangers...

You need to get some more strength gear Faelor. I hit a Legendary Windsong last week (pre windsong chat bug and ferocity buff), for around 74k.

These abilities are now learned by observing them in combat. The NPC doesn't necessarily have to use the specific ability in order for you to learn it. If it uses a similar ability you will get a chance to learn. This means that in order for you to learn Feral Strike, the npc doesn't actually have to parry and then use Feral Strike.

Here is what I was thinking...
These arrows are better than flight/ quarrel and better than barbed/ bodkin combined. So getting them for free is a nice supplement. Rangers are not supposed to completely sustain their arrow consumption via foraged arrows.
The recipes will be changed in an upcoming patch to make it so you only need 1 of each piece in order to craft a stack of 5 arrows (at least we dont have to craft single arrows anymore). That will certainly be a lot better than it is now.
Also, the forage tables are not complete. The reason you only succeed 1 out of every 4 times is because that is how often we want you to get arrow components, once other items are in the table you will succeed much more often. We are considering amny things to add such as, but not limited to food and herbs with buffs.
Also, concerning forgaing cast timer - instant is certainly feels nice, but this is all free stuff that rangers get on top of everything else. There isnt even a mana cost, so all we require you to do to get free stuff is wait 3 seconds. Once the other items are in, I think the time sink will certainly feel more justified.
As always we don't want to make things tedious so foraging will continue to be adjusted through the end of beta and during launch.
