What am I missing here?
Monkly-Business.com is owned by IGE, www.monkly-business.net is not.

On the original topic, while there is obviously no way to guarantee any of our affiliates won't be bought out there is the guarantee they will be dropped from the affiliate program. They will lose any exclusives, contact from the developers, etc. While certainly people will continue to visit them and use their resources we refuse to drop our stand to protect our game in anyway we can from the secondary market. If one person realizes the harmful effects the RMT of money and in game items has on the games they play, then we are successful in that respect. We play these games too, and we refuse to lay down and accept the Secondary Market.

We've stated many times how we feel about Station Exchange vs. Secondary Market. It is within a developers right to sanction their goods and services how they see fit, such as we see in Second Life, Exchange is sanctioned servers with transactions handled by the service provider (Sony).

We have no intention of ever offering such a service, Sony saw it as a viable way of providing those who want to pay for their items in game to do so, without harming the economies of their other servers and cutting down on secondary market sales on their normal servers.

No one is expected to agree with either direction, but we stand firm to our own.

Sorry let me expand on the topic of this thread.

Sigil does not have an issue with database sites, so long as the data is collected through community members and not via data mining. (automatically sniffing and decoding packets. etc.)

We only have a ban on sites that are owned and operated by the Secondary Market (gold/plat sellers).

The negative impact is not from what they do, it is from who owns them and their interests in this industry. By going to any site that is owned by those who sell money in Vanguard you are supporting the sale and destruction of the server economies.

For example RPG Holdings, IGE, Zam Networks which includes Allakhazam, OGaming, WoWInterface.com, EQInterface.com, VGInterface.com, etc. are all owned and operated by the same individuals.

We will also not support any fansite that makes revenue from Secondary Market advertisements.

I hope that clarifies

For a while now. Sigil is firm in its stance against the secondary market. Any site affiliated or supported by IGE or other secondary market companies is not welcome in Vanguard or its community.

This includes all of the Zam network (OGaming, Allakhazam, Thottbot, etc.)
