I'd probably lean towards liking Aliens more than Alien too, but Ridley Scott (along with Sam Raimi) is my all time favorite director and that fact usually ends up pulling me back towards the middle :P

Haha well in terms of the two Alien movies, I've given up trying to compare them. What it comes down to is:

You have one of the best directors of all time (Ridley Scott) making a sci-fi/suspense movie

and

You have one of the best directors of all time (James Cameron) making a sci-fi/action movie

and they were both awesome. :P
