I see where you are coming from Jim, but it should not be a problem. While there is nothing stopping anyone from leveling up another tradeskill alt, it would not be a quick thing to level up an artificer to compliment your blacksmith.
Of course that's only covering some of your bases, without an outfitter.
No matter how many trades we put in, we can't stop you from trying to work your way up them on different characters.
But with how content-heavy and in-depth our crafting system is designed to be, it would take a significant amount of effort to level up all three trades to max. And even then, you aren't going to be able to make everything. With all the time you spent leveling up those other guys, it might have been easier to just make a deal with an artificer or just sell lots of your stuff to buy the parts you need if all you really want to do is play your blacksmith.
Though if someone wants to have three different characters in all three trades, by all means.
