Either way ... hot topics are usually read a lot ... but responded to rarely. But, yah, the ones people most want a response to because they want the small victory of a staff member agreeing with them.
It is a tough call. You're absolutely right that they're read. But when they're controlversial or involve something we don't want to reveal yet, or a system we've not tested enough ourselves to have a strong opinion on yet, or involves something we want to keep sekret for now, what does one say?
If I can hint, I try to hint, and then say 'more on this later'. But sometimes the topic is such that we're just not ready to say anything on that topic yet at all.

Clever title, Arnie, no one can resist reading something with a title like that. Even Glip.
And I'd have to agree, they are pretty geared towards the community and are all pretty cool people.
Especially Glip, who does a good job of moderating the message boards (Now I'm making up for my gnome beating comments... ) and filtering out slams and personal attacks -insert true story- which seems beyond most message board moderators without e-mailing them twenty times and threatening to get them fired for being biased against you and removing your counter attack against said-person but not removing hers.
