I love the franchise, and I'd definitely be all for another Alien movie. I do think the character of Ripley has run her course though, don't really know where else they could go with her (or her clone, whatever :P).

This weekend.

30 million total probably won't be too difficult for a film featuring Alien and Predator, no matter how medicore their friends tell them it is, people will still go see it.

I thought Bleys's bet was for 30 million this weekend. If it doesn't reach it by Sunday, then Bleys will be fine.

Sorry about that! It's okay, I um, gave them monopoly money. Yes, that's it...

I'd have to agree with the gnome, basically.

If you go in expecting aliens and predators, fighting, and not a stellar movie, you will probably enjoy it if you like both series.

Overall, I got what I expected, and enjoyed it.

Well, I saw it last night.

I went into the movie thinking it would stink completely and I was happy to say it stank slightly less than completely :P

The fight scenes were spiffy, everything else was basically just filler. Weak script, weak acting etc.. but fun fight scenes. Just go in and turn the brain off and sit back and enjoy it, thats your best bet for not being disappointed. I did like how they humanized the Predators too, gave them more character.

Parts of it reminded me of some of the comics, and others were scenes ripped straight out of the Predator and Alien movies. At times it really pushed the term "homage" :P

There's a few gaping plot holes and one in particular that bugged me, but hey, at least it wasn't Freddy vs Jason :P

Alien may be PG-13 now, I dunno. Tough call, I don't really remember how much swearing was in the movie either, that would make a difference.

Alien was a suspence/horror movie though. Aliens was a sci-fi action movie. I guess what I'm hoping Alien vs Predator is, is a mix of Aliens and Predator 2 (or 1 really, just there were multiple Predators in the second)

I just really don't want it to be a 90 minute formula, CG filled movie that just cheapens two of the cooler franchises out there.

I very much want it to be an awesome movie, but the PG-13 rating is worrying me. Both Predators and both Aliens (3 and 4 dont exist) were R, and I'm a bit concerned they're going to turn it more into a dumb action flick rather than a cool 'monster' movie.

Still, I'll give it a shot I'm sure. You've seen it then? Can you comment on anything else about it at all?
