fyi, i had a open report in my web design class over the last few weeks, and i decided to do it on vanguard's faq and screens (the school proxy server doesn't block this site yet! =x) anyways i think i recruited about 40+ people for yeah!

Many thanks!!! Awsome!

(and, btw, your armor would change appearance too, since that tech doesn't allow clothing/armor to be shared across races)."

Brad is talking about what other games have done in the past.. Not Vanguard.

" But what I'm talking about it dynamically changes the appearance values of your characters -- truly being morphed"

He means not simply swopping a wood elf model for a dark elf model but morphing your existing model. in other words changing your characters look.

Indeed!

I think the content possibilities are intriguing. Imagine going into an area and getting transformed by a spell or effect. Then having to go on a quest or series to get your true appearance back. How about a rogue type who can use this to complete a quest or mission? Or maybe just changing hair color or growing a beard or mustache just for fun?

Shapechanging, illusions, glamours, all of these are true archtype fantasy stuff. A system like this could add these elements into the game.

Exactly! I love it! Speaking of, say, glamours and the like -- think of how that could fit in with the Diplomacy Sphere!

some possiblities

Change hairstyle or hair colour
make your character fatter or thiner
Make it older
Grow or shave off a beard
add or remove Tattoos

What I hope you wll not be able to change is your characters name.

True and true (not being able to change your characters name).

But I think there are a lot of cool possiblities here.

First, the effect can be permanent, or hard to have done, or just a temporary effect (from a spell or curse from an NPC or a regional effect, etc).

Second, it does allow for shapechange in addition to changing how your character looks keeping its race.

Our skeleton/morphing technology, like I said, no matter how attacked on some boards (the unibody debate) not only allows us to make orders of magnitude more sets of clothing/armor/etc., support changing your outfit depending on situation or sphere, allow us to give players not only an unprecedented level of character customization at character create, also apply this tech to NPCs so they look very different, both body and face-wise, but we can do a lot of this post-character create and I think there are a TON of ideas to explore here -- very exciting stuff. Unibody ftw
