I totally agree. Unique encounters that test one’s ability to employ special strategies and utilize their abilities, items and skills in new ways are a must.

One of the things that excited me most about working on this prooject was the expressed dedication to making tools that would enable us to make incredible encounters and events (and make them rapidly) while developing systems that would provide for a wide range of player strategies… systems that allow us to make some fights dramatically different from one another. The ring quests and other dynamic content were a blast to implement, but they took a looong time with the tools we had then.

We’ve brainstormed at length about what kinds of special encounters we want to see in our game, and designed tools with them in mind. It would be helpful to have you all think up some great events and encounters that you’d like to see... even things you’ve never seen in a game yet, things that would make you sit a couple inches higher in your seat=)… and if there is an aspect of them that we haven’t accounted for we can include it in our specs!
