Questions - Female Perspective

Participants in the survey answered the following 11 questions (the three questions marked in red were identification and permission questions - note the numbers in parentheses are corresponding to the question number in the series).

1. Please state your character's name or your forum name (your preference), and also your current guild (or your last guild, if you are retired).

2. (1) Please list the MMORPGs you have played, identify the most important one, and tell how many years you have played the latter game.

3. Please state the server on which you played your main MMORPG.

4. (2) Many people seem to think women get into MMORPGs via their boyfriends or husbands. Is that the case with you or were you the leader in your group/family to start playing MMORPGs? In other words, how and why did you begin gaming?

5. (3) What has your main game meant to you? Has it brought you joy, heartache, friendship? Describe the effect the game has had on your life.

6. (4) How has your gender helped you in gameplay? How has it hindered you?

7. (5) Has "being hit on" made you sometimes wish you had chosen a male character? How did you handle it? Does it happen less now than it did, say, five years ago when female players were more of a novelty?

8. (6) What unique talents and abilities have you, as a female MMORPG player, brought to your game?

9. (7) Looking back, what would you change? What would you keep the same?

10. (9)Is there anything else you would like to add that would better state your view in particular and women's view in general on playing MMORPGs?
